References to "us" "we" and "our" are to Air New Zealand Holidays and references to "you" are to you as the customer.

"Booking Conditions" means these booking conditions; "Product" means one or more ground or cruise products (e.g. accommodation, rental cars, cruises, tours) booked with us under these Booking Conditions; and "Suppliers" means any person who provides all or part of your Product, such as accommodation, cruise or other ground products.

Introduction

Thank you for choosing Air New Zealand Holidays to book your holiday. Please read the following Booking Conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis upon which bookings are accepted by us. These Booking Conditions may be changed by us at any time with or without notice and in our sole discretion.

The law regarding accommodation for persons with disabilities varies from country to country and we cannot guarantee that all hotels, transport and amenities will be equipped and suitable for wheelchair users or disabled passengers.

If you have special requests, we will do our best to ensure these are met but we cannot guarantee such requests nor advise you whether such requests have been fulfilled before you leave.

Privacy statement

We are committed to protecting the privacy of personal information you might provide via our website. Our Privacy & Security Policy explains how we manage personal information and the security precautions taken.

Travel insurance

Unexpected situations can arise before or during your holiday so we recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover such events, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of money through cancellation or deferment due to unforeseen circumstances;
  • Loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money and other valuables;
  • Medical expenses;
  • Additional expense to cover accommodation and repatriation costs to New Zealand should the holiday need to be extend or curtailed due to illness or injury while overseas or due to the need to return to New Zealand because of any unexpected death or illness of a close relative. This feature should also cover cancellation of transport services due to industrial action.

An Air New Zealand Limited travel insurance policy is available and can be purchased online at the Air New Zealand Limited website (www.airnewzealand.co.nz/travel-insurance), via the Air New Zealand contact centre at 0800 737 000, or by contacting your nearest Air New Zealand Holidays Store.

Prices and Conditions

Prices and conditions featured on this web site are current at the time of publication but are subject to change without notice. Prices may vary due to peak demand periods, changes in surcharges, fees, taxes or currency fluctuations. Prices are not valid during trade fairs or special event periods. Prices are valid for travel as specified.

Prices listed are either per room or per person as stipulated on the website. Prices are listed in either Australian Dollars (A$) or New Zealand Dollars (NZ$) and include GST where applicable. Prices do not include transport from the home port to the destination and/or return, items of a personal nature, meals, transfers (unless specified), Supplier imposed levies and existing or proposed taxes and government charges, unless otherwise indicated.

Some Suppliers may impose conditions that vary from the conditions stated on this website.

An additional 1.4% credit card service fee will be applied to the dollar amount paid by credit card on all Air New Zealand Holidays bookings.

Children's Prices

In most cases, children's prices for accommodation featured on this website refer to children occupying the same room/unit with at least two adults and using existing bedding. Additional charges may apply if extra beds (including rollaways and cots) are required.

Deposits and Final Payment

For bookings made online

Full payment must be made at the time of booking. Only upon payment do you have a final booking with the Supplier of the relevant good and/or service. In arranging your booking, we are acting as the agent of the Supplier for the relevant Product, and at no time do you have a contract with us.

You must be at least 18 years of age in order to make a booking and you must provide the following information when making a booking:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your credit card details
  • Contact daytime telephone number

You must ensure that your credit card details and email address are correct and valid at the time of booking. We take no responsibility for any incorrect information submitted.

Once your credit card details are processed, your booking details are automatically sent to the Supplier and a booking receipt and invoice are sent to your registered e-mail address. The booking receipt will need to be printed and presented to the Supplier upon check-in.

For bookings made with our Call Centre via the telephone


Deposits:

A minimum deposit of $100 per adult is required within 7 days of confirmation of the booking, unless otherwise advised at the time of booking. A deposit holds services but does not guarantee prices.

Some Suppliers may impose deposit conditions that vary from those stated above.

Please check individual Supplier conditions at the time of booking.

Final Payment:

Full payment of the booking cost must be made no later than 30 days prior to travel, or by sale end date, or by the payment deadline specified in individual package conditions, whichever is earliest.

For bookings made 30 days or less prior to travel, but more than 7 days prior to travel, full payment of the booking cost must be made within 24 hours of confirmation of the booking.

Please ensure payments are made within the specified time limits. If this does not happen, our computer system automatically cancels the booking without notice or liability to you.

Only upon payment of the full cost of the booking do you have a final booking with the Supplier of the relevant good and/or service. In arranging the booking, we are acting as the agent of the Supplier of the relevant Product and at no time do you have a contract with us.

Bonds

Bonds or credit card imprints are required by Car Suppliers, Yacht Charters and by most Accommodation Suppliers at the time of check-in to cover incidentals and fees not included in your holiday cost. Other bonds may apply at certain times of the year.

Amendment Fees

Any amendment to the booking is subject to the approval of the relevant Supplier. Any approved change to the booking prior to, at or after making final payment will incur an amendment fee of $35 in addition to any fees imposed by the Supplier. Amendments to Last Minute Rate bookings are not permitted.

Cancellations and Refunds

Wholesale Rates:

Bookings cancelled prior to final payment will be charged a $100 per person cancellation fee in addition to any fees imposed by the supplier which may be up to 100% of monies paid (refer to individual Suppliers Cancellation Policy).

Bookings cancelled after final payment will be charged a $150 per person cancellation fee in addition to any fees imposed by the Supplier which may be up to 100% of monies paid (refer to individual Suppliers Cancellation Policy).

There will be no refund for cancellation once travel has commenced or for any unused services. Requests for refunds received more than 6 months after departure date will not be accepted.

The Supplier’s cancellation fees will be charged according to their specific cancellation policy. Individual Supplier cancellation fees will be displayed before you confirm your booking.

If you are eligible for a refund, the amount will be credited to your credit card.

Last Minute Rates

(where specified online as ‘last-minute rates’ and for travel within the next 90 days)

Last Minute Rates are subject to strict Cancellation Policies as imposed by the Suppliers and it’s important to always check and take note of the Cancellation Policy listed under the “Room Info” section of each Last Minute Rate.

Late Bookings

A fee of $20 will be charged for any late booking which necessitates documents being forwarded by Registered Post or Courier.

Travelling Without Tickets

In the case of short notice bookings, we can arrange for documents to be sent directly to the Supplier.

Information featured on this web site has been supplied by the people and organisations (Suppliers) providing the various goods and/or services (Products). In supplying this information to you, we are acting as the agent of such Suppliers.

Irrespective of any measures taken by us to ensure the information featured on this site is accurate at the time of publication, we disclaim and will be exempt from liability in respect of anything misleading, false, incomplete or inaccurate and any errors, misdescription and all associated disappointment, loss, expense, damage, inconvenience, delay, death, shock, illness or injury, however caused. We do not control the manner in which Products featured within this site are provided. We disclaim and will be exempt from liability for anything to do with the supply of such Products. This includes liability (whether as a matter of contract, tort, statute, restitution, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss, liability, claim, cost, expense, proceeding, demand, penalty, disappointment, death, injury, illness, shock, inconvenience or delay. This limitation of liability also applies irrespective of the cause, including negligence of us or a Supplier, withdrawal, cancellation or failure to provide a Product, delay, any variation in the Product, the provision of substitute Products or a change in the Supplier. Without limitation, we will not be responsible if the Product is not available due to inclement weather conditions or other Acts of God, civil disturbances, fire, floods, acts of Government or any other authorities, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment or industrial action.

Identification

You may be asked to present photo identification to the Supplier upon check in.

Transfers

Some Accommodation Suppliers provide courtesy transfers from airports/railway stations. It is essential that these transfers are pre-booked. Some Tour Suppliers provide complimentary pick up and return to your holiday accommodation. All tours and transfers must be re-confirmed with the Supplier 24 hours prior to departure directly with the service provider.

Tours

Some tours require a minimum number of passengers to operate. If minimum numbers are not achieved tours may be cancelled at short notice. Additionally, some Suppliers reserve the right to cancel departures for other reasons. Some tours and itineraries may also vary and attractions may be substituted due to seasonal conditions. We will not be held liable for a service variation, cancellation, delay or withdrawal, or a Supplier's failure to notify you.

Important Note

In the case of any problem, it is imperative you inform the Supplier immediately in order for the Supplier to rectify the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you do not do so it may hinder the ability of the Supplier to resolve your concerns and to ensure your stay is exactly to your liking.

International Passport and Visa Requirements

Please ensure you are in possession of a valid visa for the destination you are visiting. New Zealand Passport holders should always check any 'Travel Advice' notices issued by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade prior to commencement of travel. Information can be accessed at www.safetravel.govt.nz.

It is the passenger’s responsibility to advise you that they are in possession of any visas required for their destination. New Zealand Passport holders can check at www.safetravel.govt.nz. Requirements for other nationalities/Passport holders may vary and should be checked with the relevant issuing authority. Passports are normally required to be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of re-entry.

Airfares

A range of airfares are offered through our website. All airfares are subject to availability and special conditions apply to each fare. Airfares booked online require full payment at the time of booking. If flexible payment terms are required, please contact our Call Centre who can assist you with airfares that are able to be held before payment is required.

  • Passenger Names must be entered exactly as detailed on each individual passport (for international travel) or on photographic identification (for domestic travel). Names entered incorrectly are then subject to airline specific terms and conditions and may attract fees.
  • The booking of a combination of Air services online may result in the creation of multiple airline bookings. Subsequent amendments or cancellations for these bookings may each attract fees.

Accommodation Ratings

Ratings featured on this website are used to describe the standard of accommodation and are supplied by the individual properties.

In Australia:

Properties in Australia bearing the STAR symbols are independently assessed by AAA Tourism, the national tourism body of the Australian Auto Clubs. The STARS and the STAR Rating Scheme are a Registered Trademark of AAA Tourism Pty Ltd. This website has no input into the assessment process.

2 star. Basic standard of accommodation with clean facilities
3 star. Comfortable standard of accommodation
4 star. High standard of accommodation and facilities
5 star. Superior standard of accommodation and facilities

In New Zealand:

Properties in New Zealand bearing the STAR symbols are independently assessed by Qualmark a government and private sector partnership between Tourism New Zealand and New Zealand Automobile Association. This website has no input into the assessment process.

1 star. Acceptable, meets minimum requirements
2 star. Good, exceeds minimum requirements
3 star. Good to very good quality facilities and services
4 star. Excellent, consistently achieves high quality levels
5 star. Exceptional, among the best available in New Zealand

Agent

Air New Zealand Limited does not by virtue of its participation in any Air New Zealand Holidays product or by virtue of supplying any component of any Air New Zealand Holidays product represent itself as either contracting with any purchaser of a Holidays Package from Air New Zealand Holidays, or as having any other legal relationship with any such purchaser, save where Air New Zealand Limited participates as carrier in a Holidays Package and in such case, the contractual or other legal relationship (if any) with the purchaser shall solely relate to the supply of the air travel component of the Holidays Package. When Air New Zealand Holidays makes your bookings with the Suppliers we are acting only as a booking agent for the Suppliers.

Consumer Guarantees Act

Where you purchase or hold yourself out as purchasing our services for the purposes of a business the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act will not apply to the supply of such services.

No amendment

No employee or agent of Pacific Leisure Group or Air New Zealand Limited has any authority to amend, cancel or otherwise alter these Booking Conditions.
