Important Airfare and Flight Information to and from Greymouth

In recognition of family and friends wishing to attend the memorial service taking place in Greymouth on Thursday, Air New Zealand has released special single-price airfares for travel to and from Greymouth (Hokitika airport).

These airfares have been set at a level to cover the cost of operating the services only.

These single price fares are now available on all seats to and from Hokitika Airport from today until next Sunday, 5 December.

The direct service between Christchurch and Hokitika has fares set at $90 one way. Fares are also available for travel from both Wellington and Auckland via Christchurch, at $120 and $150 one way respectively.

The airfares are now available on the Air New Zealand website.

Additional capacity:

An additional 11 return services to/from Hokitika have been added from tomorrow through until next Friday, including a special Auckland-Hokitika direct service on Thursday. Larger aircraft are also being used on some services. Further capacity may be added where available and as required.

Since last Friday, Air New Zealand has operated an additional five return services to Hokitika and also used larger aircraft. The airline normally operates 14 return services per week between Christchurch and Hokitika.

Compassionate airfare levels for immediate family members, which have been available since 19 November, continue to be available and are being coordinated directly with families.
