At Air New Zealand we’re serious about safety. But as we’ve shown, that doesn’t mean we can’t present it differently. This time around, we thought former Golden Girl and Hot in Cleveland star Betty White would have plenty to say on the topic. At 91, she knows a bit about survival and living life to the full.
In this latest safety video, we partnered up with Betty and a clan of perky pensioners to deliver our first in-flight safety presentation to be filmed outside New Zealand. Instead, we set the video in a rather magnificent retirement village in Los Angeles. Betty leads a stellar cast that includes Gavin Macleod (Captain Stubing from The Love Boat) and
Jimmy Wheldon (voice cast for the original Yogi Bear show). Gavin and Betty originally appeared together in the 70s programme The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Together with two Air New Zealand flight attendants, we had a ball fitting all the important safety messages around the antics of some very energetic and talented actors living it up in their ‘golden years’.
