YAP® is an instant and easy to use application that allows you to manage your money with your mobile phone.
With YAP, you can check your OneSmart Account balance and send money to other OneSmart Accountholders, and that's just the beginning. Once registered with YAP, these services are available to you using a simple text message.
YAP works with your OneSmart Account
The money you send and receive with your phone is linked to your OneSmart Account. If a friend or family member sends you money from their OneSmart Account it is transferred directly onto your account.
YAP saves you time and money
You do not have to leave home or pay high fees to send money. YAP is instantaneous and very economical.
Control your spending using your mobile phone
You can check your balance with a text message, check your latest transactions and freeze or unfreeze YAP functions on your mobile.
How to send money by text message
Send money by sending a text message to number 927.
- Enter the New Zealand Dollar amount you want to send, leave a space. Then include the mobile phone number of the OneSmart Accountholder receiving the money. Make sure that there are no spaces between the numbers of the phone number you are texting to.
- If the receiver is an active OneSmart Accountholder that is already registered with YAP and the transfer will not take them over their account limit, they will receive an instant notification stating that a payment has been received and has been added to their OneSmart Account balance.
- If the recipient is not an active OneSmart Accountholder or they have not registered with YAP or their account limit will be exceeded, then you will receive a text message advising your transaction hasn’t gone through and the funds will not be deducted from your OneSmart Account.
Additional YAP text message commands
Send a text message to number 927 and include any of the following commands to receive details about your OneSmart Account activity:

|Request your last YAP transaction received||LAST IN||A text message will be sent to you listing your most recent YAP transaction received.|
|Request your last YAP transaction sent||LAST OUT||A text message will be sent to you listing your most recent YAP transaction sent.|
|Disable YAP services||FREEZE||All YAP services will be temporarily disabled. Note this will not impact the other functions of your OneSmart Account.|
|Re-Enable YAP services||UNFREEZE||All YAP services will be re-enabled.|
OneSmart Account Alerts
Keep informed of account activity through email or mobile alerts. You can opt-in to have a text message or email sent to you every time your account is used. This allows you to closely monitor your spending, and with real-time reporting, you'll always know your account status and current balances for all active wallets.
With OneSmart mobile alerts there's added account security. If you receive an alert for a transaction you don't recognise, you can report the issue immediately and prevent further misuse of your account.
To enable your OneSmart mobile alerts, you will need to login to your OneSmart Account, select 'Go Mobile' and then the YAP Mobile tab.You’ll first need to register your mobile phone number for YAP. Login to OneSmart.
