What better place to start our History tour than the Cairns Museum which has an amazing history of its own. This building has been home to the Cairns School of the Arts, City leaders and the community since the early 1900s The location was also the meeting place of traditional landowners for thousands of years!

Appreciate the beauty of our lagoon and ocean as you hear about the importance of our reefs and rainforests. Learn about the oldest living culture in the world, our settlers and explorers through to modern society and the impacts of colonisation, major global developments and events.

Be captivated by stories of pirates, the opium trade and the early gold rush.
