AMAZING EXPERIENCE

We booked this experience as a birthday gift to myself. As the weather wasn't too good the team postpone to 1 pm. That's a piece of good advice when you book a heli hike take the whole day for this because it is a weather-dependent experience and you have to be flexible. The team was super friendly and excited. We were guided by Chris, he has been there for 9 years, working around all the glaciers in New Zealand, he got so much knowledge about the area and history. He made our day, he's friendly, funny, and patient. He makes you feel comfortable to walk around, showing the good spots and making you aware of the dangers of the place. On the way back to the airport, the pilot (unfriendly I didn't get his name) gave us such a gift, a quick scenic flight around Mount Cook, it was breathtaking. It definitely, worth it, I would do it again and again!

Such a shame. Could have been fantastic

So check in was fun. The staff were super chill good people.. We boarded the Chopper. Again the staff and pilot were real nice folk. Then we landed on the Glacier and the Helicopter flew away. Oh dear. Our guide who looked like he had just turned 25 had a real chip on his shoulder. He acted like he did not want to be there. The group was about 12 people. Elderly folk. Overweight folk. As we did not have ski poles to walk, i think this was the issue. We just did not have enough time as no one could walk on the glacier with there snow spike shoes.. So it was a real issue. We were not really allowed to take photo's as the guide was hostile, as every thing seemed by the miniute for Helicopter pick up. Very annoyed with myself. As i did read reviews and some other customers wrote what my experience was like. Guide just seemed like he wanted to be some where else. I intend to go back to Glacier end of the year, and fly with a different Company. As i won't let this one off bad experience put me of..

Amazing

A must do glacier walk with Heli Hike. Such an awesome experience, we got to enter a couple ice caves, our guide was very friendly accommodating and informative. Highly recommended before all the glaciers disappeared.
