We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Antarctic Centre. The children loved the range of experiences, especially the snow room and seeing the penguins. The only reason we are giving a 4 star instead of a 5 star is due to accessibility. There needs to be ramps rather than stairs for wheelchair users and prams to properly experience the centre. We had to help many mum's carry their prams up.and down stairs.
While not cheap with a family, the varied experiences were excellent. The huskies, 4D theatre and storm chamber were highlights. Getting there with the early concession was a bonus and meant a small number of fellow tourists. Well done to the Centre!
We went to the IAC on a rainy afternoon at 2pm. Not many people so easy to look around the Centre at a gentle pace. At the Penguin nest viewing area we were lucky enough to come across a ?Keeper (super knowledgeable about them) who told us about all the different personalities/penguinalities in the group. We were also able to see some gorgeous huskies up close, and had a blast in the Storm experience. Btw in that room there were quite a few families who had taken very small children in and were surprised by how cold and windy it was - all left before the sequence ended. NB There is an Exit door opposite the Entry door that you can leave through at any time. Really good afternoon, and very interesting.
Thoroughly enjoyed by young and old. Haaglund was awesome for the young boys. The drivers commentary was very informative.
