Nora said... The overall event was good. The staff and performers were very nice, they took time to answer questions and you could see they enjoyed performing. The organizer made sure to involve the audience. The performance itself was fun to watch but not too informative about the Maori culture which was a little unfortunate because we came to learn more about the culture. During the Hangi, the actors were performing a Haka, which the men were invited to take part in and there was also a dance for women, lots of fun! The staff was super helpful and friendly and the food for the most part was tasty but we felt like the food could have been more authentic as the entree included curry and stuffing a la American Thanksgiving (disclaimer: we could be wrong about the authenticity of the food as we are not familiar as to what actually is authentic Maori food). Towards the end of the event we felt a little rushed to finish eating and to leave. The whole event lasted less then two hours instead of the mentioned three hours. All in all it was an enjoyable experience that we would recommend it to friends, with the caveat that the show and food could use a little polishing up in terms of Maori culture and authenticity. We would not recommend it for the full price. Essentially, 4 stars for discount price but would have been 3 stars had we have paid full price.
