Susan said... My husband and I were very disappointed with this tour. The seating is assigned based on a number you are given when you check in, you have no control over this assignment. On the duck, there are three rows of forward facing seats in the front and three similar rows in the back. The middle area of the vehicle has seating that has been converted to back-to-back, sideways facing, padded benches for five people each side. We were unfortunately assigned to this middle area, doubly unfortunate to be on the left facing side. Sitting here meant we saw nearly nothing of what was part of the tour commentary, including no view of the beach during the driving part of the tour! About 90% of what the guide discussed was on the right side of the vehicle, meaning behind our backs! And because the five of us on the bench were literally hip to hip, there was no way to even turn around to see these sights. It was very frustrating to constantly hear "on your right...." and have no view of what was being described. The explanation for this seating is to create room for people to walk around in the vehicle when it's in the water. The downside of this is that, if people did choose to walk about (no one really did, except the kids heading up front to "drive" the duck), they would be standing directly in front of the people seated on the benches, totally obstructing their view. I suggest looking for conventional seating arrangements if you're interested in taking a duck tour, or, better yet, just take the scenic river cruise, you'll see much more!
