For Something Different & Fun

If you’re a serious spook fan the 2-hour tour probably isn’t for you, but if you want an entertaining night out this will be great. Just enough mix of history and drama to make the skin prickle, with a bit of theatrics from the guide thrown in. Include the building itself, a gracious old lady in sad decline, and it’s a couple of hours well spent. Many rooms are closed as the building is not maintained at all, but the rooms that are original are very interesting to see. And chilling when you think what life must have been like for the inmates.

Two hours drive outside Melbourne

I was really disappointed with this tour, they have to specify that the location is OUTSIDE the city. I made my booking and when I realized it was two and half hour driving from Melbourne CBD, I tried to contact them and never responded.

It was okay

The guide we had was knowledgeable about the history of the asylum, however there was nothing at all scary about the place. I was disappointed because we signed up for a ghost tour - not a history tour. The guide we had was difficult to like because he didn’t present well and he smelt strongly of body odor. I’ve been on the tour twice before and it was really good so when I invited friends from out of town, I expected it to be of the same high quality. Unfortunately we were left thinking that we’d missed our chance to get the full ghost tour experience
