The National Motorsport Museum overlooks the Highlands circuit with floor to ceiling viewing windows.
Home to supercars, race cars, trucks, motorbikes and the only Aston Martin Vulcan in the Southern Hemisphere, worth 4.2 million dollars and some of the rarest cars in NZ motorsport. The Museum has some hidden gems such as the Aroma Room, an authentic American sheriff’s patrol car, and even several arcade driving games.
For the kids we have free playground & balance bikes for children under 6 and plenty of room to run up and down the grass terrace in a safe environment.
Your Museum Entry also includes access to the Young Guns Virtual Reality room. The Virtual Reality experience celebrates the Young Guns of New Zealandmotorsport, and you can do a virtual hot lap around the Highlands circuit with drivers such as Greg Murphy, Mad Mike, Liam Lawson and Hayden Paddon.
Highlands is a world-class facility with experiences to match, Highlands offers multiple ways to experience the international race circuit at speed. From Supercars to U-Drive Race Cars, Highlands has a 650m outdoor Go Kart circuit with Single and Tandem Karts; is home to the National Motorsport Museum, the famous Loo with a View, outdoor 18 hole themed Mini Golf Course and has a fully licensed Café.

Actually unique vehicles
Really a very good museum, especially at the discounted price. Some truly unique vehicles on display which I've never seen the likes of at any other car museum in NZ. Probably spent under 1 hr there.

Not worth the visit
First time visit. Not worth it. Spoiled in invercargill for value and choice. Not well kept. Mini putt awful

Didn't met expectations
VR is not truely a VR experience as it was just a video without any thrill.

The Virtual Reality room is included as part of the entry to Highlands Museum and visitors will get the opportunity to experience what it feels like to sit in the passenger seat on a virtual lap around Highlands with Greg Murphy, ‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett and Hayden Paddon. The Virtual Reality hot laps experience is the first of its kind in New Zealand and the video and virtual reality content will be updated regularly. We hope to see you again at Highlands.

Great day out and service was super helpful+ got to see action on the track and sculptures and loo with a view was fun to see.
