1 Hour Canal Cruise - Mooloolaba

5.0
10

Experience the famous one hour canal cruise, showcasing the best of stunning Mooloolaba!

Highlights

  • One hour canal cruise departing Mooloolaba Wharf
  • Learn about the residents, history, and wildlife of the area!
  • Feed the local resident Pelicans from the side of the boat

Leave the land behind for a relaxing change of pace cruising through the calm waters of the Mooloolah River on Mooloolaba’s most popular canal cruise.

Slipping away from the Mooloolaba Wharf your Skipper will introduce you to the locals with an entertaining commentary - the recent residents who live in their opulent canal-side homes with their watercraft moored out front, and the native wildlife that has made these waters their home for thousands of years.

Next stop is the river mouth where you can bring out the camera for breathtaking, expansive coastal views from Mooloolaba to Noosa before the boat is turned around. As you pass the yachts and Australia’s largest fleet of long line fishing vessels in the harbour, make sure you keep an eye out for eagles, ospreys, and other water birds that frequent this pristine habitat.

Keep the camera handy because the pelicans that live here know the Mudjimba well and if they are hungry, they will come alongside where you can hand feed these truly majestic birds.

And if that makes you hungry, you can always buy a refreshing beverage and snack on board.

It’s on the way back to the Mooloolaba Wharf that the leisurely pace can kick up a notch. You can get hands on by taking the helm to drive the boat alongside the Skipper, another photo opportunity not to be missed.

Once you’re back on land the action continues as the fish that only come out for us are waiting for a feed. This unique experience is just one of the reasons a Mooloolaba Canal Cruise on the M.V. Mudjimba is one of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast. So, jump on board and get underway!

A must do

Absolutely recommend. Fantastic hosts with great knowledge of the area, including Indigenous history which we really loved to hear about. Feeding the pelicans was a great treat too!

Enjoyable cruise

We joined the 1.00pm canal cruise on Thursday 29th July. It was both relaxing and entertaining. The informative commentary covered the history of the canals, details of some of the residents (past and present), property values and also the commercial fishing fleet based near Cartwright Point.
