The Noosa River is a 60klm long aquatic corridor extending from its primary source deep within the Great Sandy National Park down through a series of lakes interconnected by protected stretches of the river, until eventually reaching Australia’s east coast at Laguna Bay near Noosa Heads.
This tour focuses on the upper sections of the river and lakes system, which are rich in flora and fauna, and have remained relatively unchanged for centuries. The sheltered sections of the river within the national park are ideal for canoe and kayak paddling, for exploring the natural waterways and lakes, and for accessing some exciting and elusive picnic spots and walking trails.
This is a full day’s self-guided tour, which keeps the costs down but everything you need for a great day outdoors is supplied including canoe or kayak hire (your choice), mandatory safety gear, detailed and accurate maps, and careful instruction on the suggested route, places of interest, boat handing and paddling techniques, and safety guidelines.
Your safety, comfort and enjoyment are our top priorities and consequently most of our boats are made in North America or New Zealand. We use quality Canadian-style poly canoes with comfortable backrests and seating capacity for either 2 adults or 2 adults and 1 child in each. Our double and single kayaks are “sit-on” style with moulded seats, backrests and foot-controlled rudders for easy manoeuvring.
We encourage an early departure to make the most of your day in the Everglades, from as early as sunrise, returning about 4pm. Make your way initially to Boreen Point, about a 30 minute drive from Noosa Heads, where we will meet you and spend approx. 1 hour together moving to the departure point, guiding you in packing and loading, and in providing all the pre-departure briefings before launching you on your way!

Hi Sally ... and it's really nice to hear from you and to see Shane in your photo. He looks very relaxed and to be enjoying himself - but where's his hat! Yes, it was a hot day for you when you did this trip, and from memory I think you also had good conditions on the water though I can't remember if you guys went for a swim or not, but many people do while on these Everglades paddling trips. Take care Sally - cheers!

We canoed the Escapades yesterday and it was amazing! Robert (the operator) is such a nice, welcoming and genuine person who gives you detailed instructions and maps. He made us feel so confident on where to go before we left. The beautiful views and lovely places to stop makes the sore arms worth it! Would recommend this trip to everyone!
