Enjoy an active winery tour on our full day self guided Bike The Wineries Tour as you explore the wine region of Gibbston at your leisure...
Your journey will begin with a scenic and informative transfer to the quaint village of Arrowtown which is steeped in rich gold-mining history.
Our local, knowledgeable team will fit you to your bikes and provide an entertainment briefing of your adventive ahead.
Enjoy a coffee at one of the many cafes or get straight on your bike and get ready to take to the picturesque Arrow River Trail. You'll see the mighty Kawarau River and cross over the historic suspension bridge - now home to the Bungy, on the original Miners Trail.
From here you can ride the scenic Gibbston River Trail and visit the many award-winning wineries, a cheesery and brewery that are linked through this easy riding trail.
All trails are purpose-built, easy to moderate grade and off-road, with only direct road crossing between wineries.
Relax knowing that you only have to bike in one direction (no biking back to Arrowtown in a head wind!) and your return transport to Queenstown is taken care of. We'll even collect any wine purchases for you.
Wineries en route are:
• Chard Farm
• Gibbston Valley Winery
• Gibbston Cheesery
• Peregrine Wines
• Gibbston Tavern
• Cargo Brewery
• Mt Rosa Winery
• Brennan Wines

Thanks Charlie. You did well with the riding - on average our full day bike the wineries does involve a scenic ride from Arrowtown that usually takes about 1.5 hours plus a total of about another hour to ride at a relaxed pace through all the wineries. Great to hear you enjoyed the experience. The Around The Basin Team.
Pleased we where able to accommodate you in this instance Jessica - usually our departures are prompt due to having other people on-board. The e-bike upgrade sure is a great option on our full day Bike The Wineries. Great to have you out with us.
Hi Sarah! So sorry to hear that the ankle was indeed broken! What a bugger! Steve is surprisingly strong for an old fulla huh! I'm glad he found you so you didn't have to hobble too far. I wish you the most speedy of recoveries. Kind regards, Hamish and the Team at Around The Basin.
Thanks Shaun - pleased to hear you had a brilliant day Biking The Wineries with us. Cheers the Around The Basin team.
