Horseback

Our first time to ride a horse. I was a little anxious at first but when ted(the horse) started to walk i felt safe.. he was a professional and i love him. He gave me the most comfortable and relaxed ride of my life. Our guides marta and millie were amazing. They were the best. Moke lake was stunning. Overall experience was amazing.

Gills Creek Horse Trek

Had a great trek on Boom with my daughter and Carrie as our guide. Carrie was awesome with local knowledge and taking us for the odd trot here and there. Trots on standardbreds are something of a mission due to their unusual gait but sort of manageable! The horse was very willing to cross the stream many times on what was a very cold and windy day. Great that they use treeless saddles on the horses which are probably kinder than the treed types.

Hi Pauline, thank you so much for your review! We are pretty proud of using treeless saddles indeed and keeping the horses happy! Hope to see you again next time you are around :)

Amazing Experience

Did the 2 hour trek loved it!!! The best trek I've done! Scenery was unreal and our guide Alina was 5 star! She talked about all the area and so experienced with horses (it was my friends first time on one and she was brilliant with her helping the nerves etc). Definitely recommend this :)

Potential Safety Concerns

All the guides are part-timers, that work there in exchange for accommodation and food. They can be there for as short as a few weeks. All the girls are really friendly and nice, but if you're looking for a more professional riding experience, then this wouldn't be it. There is a difference between experienced horse riders and professional horse instructors and guides. Potential safety concerns due to the nature of the business model. Not sure if it was always like this, but I understand that this business was bought over by a businessman 2 years ago, who does not have much knowledge about horses.

Hi ET, We can assure you that our staff are all extremely professional and ride to a very high standard. All staff undergo full training before they begin guiding, we are glad you found everyone friendly, they also have a huge equine expertise. Feel free to get in touch if you have any REAL safety concerns as we would of course wish to discuss this with you. Our staff, however, are certainly not one of these concerns and can't see any evidence to support this claim. The owner has been operating for over 5 years now and the horses are all happy and healthy.
