Visit the filming locations for Isengard, the Ithilien Camp, Lothlorien forest and the Seat of Seeing/Battle of Amon Hen, plus filming locations from the Hobbit trilogy! This scenic safari offers breathtaking mountain and forest views along the shore of Lake Wakatipu towards Glenorchy and the Paradise Valley.
You’ll travel up the Dart Valley to the location where Isengard was set, nestled amongst snow-capped mountains beside the turquoise waters of the Dart River. Offering views of Mt Earnslaw and it’s hanging glacier, from the first instalment of The Hobbit trilogy.
You may also explore the Paradise Forest, the location for the Forest of Lothlorien. On our return to Queenstown we stop at 12 Mile Delta to explore the location of the Ithilien Camp.
The Safari of the Scenes – Glenorchy also includes locations from X-men Origins: Wolverine, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and many more.
Included: Small-Group tour with light refreshments provided. Local Queenstown pick up and drop off available.
Duration: 4 hrs 15 minutes return
What to bring: Water, a camera and a sense of adventure! Dress appropriately for outdoor adventures in the mountains.
