This small group, fully-guided day trip to Rotorua includes the key highlights in the city and gives you the freedom to choose which activities you want to do, unique to our Rotorua day trip. Led by our famously passionate tour guides notorious for bringing your journey to life by sharing their stories and rich background knowledge, and run in modern, comfortable minibuses packed with extras ensuring your comfort and safety. While the destinations you will be visiting are truly spectacular, we at Cheeky Kiwi Travel believe it’s our small groups, guides, the journey and the little details that set our tours well apart. Itinerary

  • Auckland - New Zealand’s largest city. Your guide will point out some of the cities top highlights as you make your way out of town.
  • Waikato – From Auckland we travel south through the stunning Waikato countryside. Here beautiful scenery, mighty rivers, impressive mountains and several farm animals make for great photo opportunities, and we stop for coffee at a special location.
  • Tirau – Next we pass through Tirau, famously dubbed the 'Corrugated Iron Capital of the World'. This town always gets a laugh due to the unique corrugated iron sculptures and buildings your guide will point out on the way through.
  • Rotorua City Highlights – Arriving in Rotorua, we take a guided driving tour to get your bearings and see the most famous sites in Rotorua city including: Lake Rotorua, Rotorua Museum, Government Gardens, Whangapipiro (Rachel Spring) and the Blue Baths.
  • Free Time for Optional Activities – Here your tour becomes very flexible and you have the choice between free time to explore or adding (at additional expense) up to two Rotorua attractions to visit including: Te Puia, Wai-O-Tapu, Polynesian Spa, Agrodome & Skyline Gondola.
  • Auckland – Sadly we must start to head north again but there is still plenty to see with a fully guided return trip to Auckland including secret stops along the way.
