We flew for a few minutes up to the top of the nearby mountain - (WOW, just beautiful!!) and landed for 10 minutes watching other people's children play in the snow but then flew straight down again to the airport. I was expecting to fly over the area and lake a little, see some things not visible from the road, and certainly not be landed for most of the flight time. I was really disappointed to be honest - it was a fizzer to finish our otherwise amazing holiday in Queenstown (and ironically, was the most expensive thing we did). I feel like I paid $300 to benefit someone else's children :-( The staff were lovely, the check in process was slick and professional and the pilot was friendly and knowledgeable. I just don't think I got value for money this time around.
