Inclusions:
Cave Exploring - Explore the many caves of Rotoiti while enjoying a swim in the warm summer water. Doused in history, the caves were used in the past as hiding places for early Maori. Make sure you look out for glow worms as you explore!
Boulder Hunting - According to ancient legend, Rotoiti has many boulders hidden under the sand including those perfect for Hangi (traditional Maori meal). Try your luck at grabbing these before they hide away as they disappear under the sand!
Hot and Cold beach – This private hot water beach, with boiling sands in a native Manuka grove is a gorgeous natural wonder!
Hidden hand-carved food storage caves - See the hidden caves that used to be used for storing food. Their hidden, dark location served as a fridge that kept food cool.
The Whistling Tree of danger - Discover the weathered old pohutukawa tree that murmurs in the wind. It's various whistle sounds were relied on by Maori in the past to predict or signify different events that would take place.
The Wailing Cliffs - Relied upon by ancient Maori tribes of Rotoiti as part of a ceremony prior to voyage, the wailing cliffs helped the locals determine whether their canoes were fit to withstand any storms that would come along the way.
We enjoyed our boat cruise very much the captain of the boat was very friendly and helpful. My one concern is to get the leaks on the roof of the boat fixed up.It would make the cruise in the pouring rain much better. We would love to go on again later on.
Excellent guide who was so informative, loved meeting other people on this cruise too. I checked the weather so knew it was going to rain, but saw the photo of the boat which was covered so thought the rain wont be a problem and took a couple of light jackets as well. The rain seeped through the roof and we all ended up drenched and cold, that was the biggest dissapointment. I would totally reccommend this cruise but check the weather and only book if the weather is good or if you dont mind being wet and cold for 3 hours. The food was bbq and green salad and a beautiful fruit salad, although it wasnt huge it was a nice light snack, dont expect to get full on it. I would totally take the rest of my family on this cruise but only when the weather is good.

Hidden gem tour
I was surprised how little information / review this tour got on TripAdvisor given the unmatched memories we gained from experiencing it. This is absolutely a must do in Roturoa! We went for the private charter and we could have not been any happier. Not only did we feel extra special but we were able to enjoy every bit of the tour at our own pace. The extra hospital and informative tour guide made it so tailored, detailed but not in a boring way, and homey! It was as if we were just chatting like mates. Anyway, the experience itself is next to none. Be warned though that it is not a glamorous trip. You will get yourself very wet, very cold, very dirty, and will crawl into caves. And that was the magic of it all. Nothing short of surprises! The cave was raw and untouched with glow worms! My 7 year old boy survived it but it is without risk and danger. But again, the fun and the experience outweighs them all. I should say don't do it if you aren't keen to try some thing out of your comfort zone as you will require some struggling. But again, it is very worth it. So different from the other tours that when compared to this, make them all lame.
