Slim is an absolute gem!
Booked this last minute to explore some geothermal activity in Rotorua. I was conflicted between the numerous options and opted for a half day trip to Waimangu. It ended up being one of the major highlights of my 3-week trip to New Zealand. Gorgeous views, awesome hike and it was way less crowded than other sites. On the way there, Slim gave an introductory history lesson of the area and some great tips especially for Waimangu as he was a previous employee at the park. It’s always inspiring to hear about an area from a local who grew up there and has clan history dating back ages. Made for a truly authentic experience. Would love to visit again whenever I make my way to this end of the world in the future.

Enjoyable half day experience
Pleasant and knowledgeable local tour guide. Waimangou is a very interesting geothermal valley where respect of the environment is visible, despite the need to provide amenities to the visitors. This is a very good nature experience, unspoiled by too much commercialization, and much less crowded than other alternatives... Highly recommended!

Fue una experiencia fantástica, desde la recogida en Rotorua. El recorrido hacia el parque geotérmico estuvo alimentado por las historias contadas por “Slim” el conductor quien además resultó ser un gran ser humano. Excelente aventura.

Mud run
It was a great experience! Karen and Slim were the best and made the tour with their knowledge even more interesting. Would definitely recommend it:)
