Valmai said... Thumbs up from us!! We set sail from the harbour on a beautiful big sail boat. The guide has witty banter and is knowledgeable about his area. We sailed for an hour and a quarter, the time "sailed" by. A very chill vibe on-board. The rock is kinda cool, but for me was a "bonus" sighting because I enjoyed the ride there so much, on a big sailboat on a big lake to see a big (carved) rock. The water was gorgeous, crystal blue and clean, well done Taupō. We got a hot chocolate and a chocolate fish, when we got to the rock, how perfect!! The sail back was great, the boat driver (captain?? *Please excuse my lack of boaty terminology, I'm a land loving kinda gal)) had a sailing playlist we (the passengers) all contributed to, so that was kinda personalised and fun for me! Our sailing had a handful of people and we were pretty much the only vehicle on the lake so it felt quite exclusive, I loved it. The experience of going on a sail boat was new for my family, we all enjoyed it. Good value for money, and words from our 7 year old .. "Totally worth it".
