Come and experience the natural beauty of the Cradle Mountain National Park, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tasmania.

Highlights

  • Enjoy plenty of photo opportunities of the rainforest, waterfalls and Dove Lake
  • Experience the beauty of Cradle Mountain on this full-day tour
  • Watch for wildlife like wombats and wallabies

Your day trip to Cradle Mountain National Park starts as you depart Launceston by coach. You’ll notice all of the spectacular scenery as you travel past the mountains bluffs of the Great Western Tiers and by the towns of Carrick, Hagley, Westbury and Deloraine.

When you arrive you will immediately notice the invigorating, fresh mountain air. Cradle Mountain National Park is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, this unique pristine wilderness is protected so that people from all around the world can experience its landscape of dense forest and mountainous terrain.

The viewing point for Cradle Mountain is from Dove Lake, and while you are there you have two hiking options. Firstly, you may choose to walk around the lake which takes approximately two and a half hours at a brisk pace. Alternatively, you may choose a selection of shorter 30-minute walks as well as a visit to Waldheim Chalet. This is a flexible tour, not everyone on the tour has to do the same option. The driver will stay with the short walk passengers, and at a pre-determined time will return to collect the lake walkers. To finish off, time permitting, there is a waterfall/rainforest walk for more perspectives of the mountain for everyone to enjoy.

On your way to Cradle see the topiary at Railton and the ‘Town of Murals’ Sheffield, and on your return enjoy a stop for cheese tastings at Ashgrove Cheese and learn how it’s made on site.

Cradle Mountain - Small Group Day Tour

The tour was wonderful. Dave, our guide, gave informative commentaries during the trip. Despite the not so wonderful weather, the trip was still enjoyable. Would highly recommend the tour.

Best ever!! 10/10! Thx

10/10. Thankyou David. Small group. Awesome guide. Felt like a VIP. The tour was better than I could have hoped. It’s NOT a coach! Yay! Comfy van. You won’t get squashed in. Delightful small group.
