We were under the impression we could get any but we had to choose the exact ferry (I can understand this in summer but there really wasn't many on the ferry at all). Got on the boat and there was no safety announcement or anything which from living in nz I believe is a legal requirement for boat trips with paying customers? Would have been cool to have some commentary at least but was silence. The ferry coming back on the other hand the 'captain' seemed hungover (kept rubbing his eyes and not paying much attention) and barely looked out the window at the direction we were going was on his phone instead or head in hands, would occasionally look out the window and quickly redirect the boat. Was a nice day trip to the islands but really the company could do so much better to make it a great experience.
