Elite Experience: Deep Purple Day - Terms and Conditions

  1. Information on how to enter the competition forms part of the conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed as acceptance of its terms and conditions.

  2. Entry is only open to New Zealand residents aged 18 years or over who are current Air New Zealand Elite Airpoints members.

  3. Conditions of Entry:
    How to Enter:
    An eligible participant's name will be automatically entered into the draw if they received the "Elite Experience Deep Purple Day " email sent to them on 7 December 2018 from Air New Zealand, and clicked on the registration link within the email during the Promotional Period.

  4. Participation in the competition is limited to one entry per person. Air New Zealand may, in its sole discretion, offer bonus entries to an Airpoints member or members.

  5. Air New Zealand (the "Promoter"), its employees, participating agents, and their associated agencies are ineligible to enter. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries.

  6. The competition commences on Friday 7 December 2018 and closes midnight Monday 7 January 2019 (the "Promotional Period"). Entries received after this closing time will be ineligible for entry.

  7. Five (5) winners will be randomly drawn from one prize pool on Wednesday 9 January 2019. Attempts will be made to notify the winners at the contact information provided in the Airpoints member's Airpoints account. If the Promoter, having used reasonable efforts, is unable to contact a winner within 48 hours of the prize being drawn, then the prize is forfeited and a further draw(s) will be conducted. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  8. The first 5 valid entries drawn will win the prize of a trip for themselves and one guest to attend the Deep Purple day at Craggy Range in Napier on 2 March 2019. Please note that due to the presence of alcohol the guest will also need to be aged 18 or over in order to participate in the experience. The prize will include:

    1. Return domestic flights for the Airpoints member and their guest from the Airpoints member's nearest Air New Zealand domestic airport to Napier, if required, on 1 March and returning on 3 March 2019. If we are unable to facilitate a same day connection to Napier or back to the origin airport in one day we will provide an overnight stay in a hotel of our choosing at Auckland or Wellington;

    2. Return transport from Napier airport to The Crown Hotel Napier;

    3. Two (2) nights in a run of house room at The Crown Hotel in double or twin share accommodation;

    4. Pre-dinner drinks and dinner on 1 March, and breakfast at the hotel on 2 and 3 March;

    5. Return shuttle transfers from The Crown Hotel to the Deep Purple wine club event at Craggy Range on 2 March; and

    6. Entry to the Craggy Range Deep Purple Wine Club Day on 2 March 2019 including food and wine which will be made available by Craggy Range as part of the event.

  9. The Deep Purple Day Elite Experience is scheduled to take place on Friday 1 to Sunday 3 March 2019, however if the experience is unable to take place as scheduled, the experience will not be rescheduled or offered. Air New Zealand will use reasonable endeavours to arrange an alternative activity for the winners and their guests.

  10. The winner is solely responsible for all other additional costs and expenses associated with the prize that are not specifically included (as stated in clause 8 above) and that are incurred by the winner and/or their guest, including, without limitation, any meals and drinks not otherwise included in the prize, alcohol, transport or parking, additional flights, spending money, accommodation, additional activities, personal expenses, travel and health insurance, and any other incidentals.

  11. The prize is not transferable, non-refundable and cannot be converted into cash and may not be used in conjunction with any other competition offer.

  12. The prize must be redeemed on the dates specified in clause 8. If the winner is unable to attend, the prize will be forfeited.

  13. Any changes to travel dates or additional accommodation outside the travel arrangements specified in clause 8 above made by the winner and/or guest which incur additional costs, are to be paid by the winner. 

  14. All prize travel will be subject to Air New Zealand's Conditions of Carriage, to view visit https://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/conditions-of-carriage. Prize travel will not be eligible to accrue Airpoints Dollars™ or Status Points and cannot be used in conjunction with Air New Zealand's Airpoints™ Programme or any other carriers' frequent flyer schemes.

  15. Air New Zealand accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value and reserves the right to substitute the prize in whole (or any of its components), with a substitute prize of equal or greater value.

  16. Air New Zealand reserves the right to vary, suspend or terminate the competition, or remove any entry at any time, for any reason including (without limitation) if the competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of integrity, or proper conduct of this competition. Air New Zealand reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend the competition and/or prizes at any time for whatever reason to the extent permitted by law.

  17. The winner and their guest must comply with all reasonable instructions and directions given by Air New Zealand and any other third party provider involved in the provision of the prize prior to and/or during the event. Air New Zealand assumes no responsibility for any injury, damages or losses that may arise from a winner or their guest's participation in activities offered in this competition.

  18. To the extent permitted by law, neither Air New Zealand nor any other person or party associated with the competition shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, but not limited to, direct, indirect and/or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in the competition or with the prize offered including for the avoidance of doubt; inability to travel or redeem the prize for any reason.

  19. The promoter collects entrant's personal information in order to conduct the competition. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the competition. Acceptance of the prize is deemed consent for Air New Zealand to use the winner's details, winning entry and footage of the winner and their companion taken during fulfilment of the prize from time to time for promotional and media purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation. All information will be held and used by Air New Zealand and may be accessed and amended at the individual's request.

  20. These competition terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and the courts of New Zealand shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising therefrom.
