Auckland to Argentina non-stop for just $899 one-way
Subject to government and regulatory approval, the new Auckland – Buenos Aires service which kicks off on 1 December 2015 will be Air New Zealand’s first ever scheduled service to South America, opening up a whole new world of opportunities for Kiwis wanting to explore the vibrant city of Buenos Aires and beyond to the rest of Argentina and South America.
The airline will operate three return services a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays utilising its newly refurbished Boeing 777-200 aircraft offering lie flat Business Premier beds, comfortable new Premium Economy seats and Air New Zealand’s unique Economy Skycouch.
Chief Sales and Commercial Officer Cam Wallace says, “We’re thrilled to be making South America accessible to Kiwis for business and holiday travel with a non-stop service that will have them in Buenos Aires city in less than 12 hours.
“The distance between New Zealand and Buenos Aires has seemed daunting for travellers in the past with indirect routings and long layovers meaning a total travel time of anywhere from 15 to 30 hours.
“We’re thrilled to be closing the gap between New Zealand and this exciting destination, making it more accessible to everyone from backpackers and intrepid explorers through to families and holidaymakers looking for new destinations.”
Subject to regulatory approvals, Air New Zealand will offer code share services on Aerolineas Argentinas beyond Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo in Brazil. Aerolineas Argentinas will code share on the Auckland service as well as on selected trans-Tasman services to Sydney and Melbourne.
Mr Wallace says the new air link is expected to boost inbound tourism to New Zealand. “We look forward to welcoming more South American visitors here as a result of being able to offer them a non-stop service from Buenos Aires into Auckland.”
Air New Zealand’s special introductory fare of $899 one-way is available now through until 7 April 2015. See www.airnewzealand.co.nz for more details.
