Air New Zealand Chief Revenue Officer Cam Wallace says, "The Cook Islands is a popular holiday destination with Kiwi travellers and the Dreamliner allows our customers to arrive already feeling relaxed thanks to a number of onboard features including enhanced passenger comfort as a result of lower cabin altitude and higher humidity."

Air New Zealand was the first airline globally to take delivery of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in 2014. In addition to operating a range of long haul services, the airline's current fleet of nine Dreamliners now also flies to a number of Pacific Island destinations including Nadi and Nuku'alofa.

The airline will also continue to operate its Boeing 777-200, 767-300 and Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.
