There are a few things we need to remind you of before you travel with us to Australia.
Quarantine-free flights are only available to customers who have not been outside of New Zealand and Australia for 14 days prior to departure.
Please check further eligibility requirements here.
Australian travel declaration
Everyone must complete an Australia Travel Declaration. Even if you are returning home.
The Australian Government recommends this be completed 72 hours prior to departure to allow for any processing delays.
State entry requirements
Depending on the state you are travelling to, there may be additional requirements.
Please visit the state government website for the state you intend to travel to and complete any state-specific documentation required.
What to do before check-in
Unless you are exempt or under the age of 12, you must wear a face covering at the airport and on board all Air New Zealand flights. You can choose to wear your own face covering or we can provide one for you. More information can be found here.
If you feel unwell
If you feel unwell at any time, please stay where you are and call a local doctor for further advice.
Be prepared for COVID-19 to disrupt your travel
While it is currently safe to travel without quarantine, this could change very quickly.
The NZ Government advises that should there be an outbreak of COVID-19, you may not be able to travel on the date you have originally booked. It also means that your return could be delayed, or you may be required to enter quarantine or isolate upon your return.
By undertaking travel at this time, please note you are accepting that it will be your responsibility to manage any COVID-19 related travel disruption and associated costs. The terms and conditions of your ticket will remain applicable, and we encourage you to check the terms of your travel insurance.
