Before your trip

 Entry

  • Check you meet the Australian Government's entry requirements as well as any countries/regions you will pass through in transit and on your return journey.
  • These requirements may change before you travel, so be sure to check regularly. Failure to meet local requirements may result in denied boarding.

Quarantine

  • If you are not eligible to travel quarantine-free, you will need to undertake 14 days mandatory quarantine on arrival.

Testing

  • You must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result. The test must be performed within 72 hours of departure.

Declarations

  • You will need to complete the online Australia Travel Declaration at least 72 hours before your departure
  • You will also need to complete documentation for your return journey.

Passports and visas

  • You will need a valid passport. Depending on your nationality and destination(s), you may need additional documentation such as visas and permits.
  • If your travel documentation is incomplete or inadequate, you will not be permitted to board your flight.

When you're abroad

Transiting

  • If you are transiting via Australia, you must provide a negative COVID-19 test result before boarding your inbound flight.
  • You may be required to seek advance transit approval so make sure to check before booking.

Quarantine

  • If you are not eligible to travel quarantine-free, you will undertake 14 days mandatory quarantine on arrival.

Before your return

Entry

  • If you plan to return to Australia, the entry requirements also apply to you, including completing a travel declaration. Please ensure you meet all Australia Government requirements for your return journey.
  • If you don't plan to return to Australia, please check you meet all local entry requirements for the country/region you're returning to.
