  1. Information on how to enter the competition forms part of the conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed as acceptance of its terms and conditions.

  2. Entry is only open to New Zealand residents aged 18 years or over. The Promoter is Air New Zealand. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, participating agents and their associated agencies are ineligible to enter. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries.

  3. To enter, an eligible participant must complete the Be in to a great Gisborne getaway entry form at airnewzealand.co.nz/win-gisborne-getaway. This will give the eligible participant one entry into the draw. Where the eligible participant completes their entry and shares the competition on their Facebook page, they will receive one additional entry into the draw for one share only.

  4. Promotion commences 12:01am 27 February 2020 and closes 11:59pm 12 March 2020. Entries received after this closing time will be ineligible for entry.

  5. The winner of the Promotion will be randomly drawn from one prize pool on 19 March 2020. Attempts will be made to notify the winner by phone or email at the contact telephone number/email address provided at the time of the promotion entry. If the Promoter, having used reasonable efforts, is unable to contact the winner prior to 26 March 2020, then the prize is forfeited, and an alternative winner will be selected at random. The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered in to.

  6. The prize includes return seat+bag flights for two people (travelling together) from any Air New Zealand serviced domestic airport to Gisborne Airport and a rental car courtesy of Air New Zealand and our partner Avis. One winner will receive one of the following Gisborne prize packages for two, as selected on the winner’s entry form –

    Seaside Escape

    • Experience a Reef Ecology Tour and encounter wild stingrays with Dive Tatapouri. Approximate duration 1.5hrs. Waders provided, tour times depend on tides, weather & sea conditions.
    • Ride the east coast waves in a surfing lesson with Surf Tairāwhiti Gisborne. Approximate duration 1.5hrs. All equipment supplied – learner surfboard, leg rope & wetsuit. Weather dependant.
    • Sail on board The Waka Hourua ‘Tairāwhiti’ with Waka Voyagers Tairāwhiti. Traditional Maori welcome aboard, learn how to man the hoe, hoist the sails and tack, learn stories of the regions voyaging history told by local storyteller/navigator, packed lunch. Approximate duration 3hrs.
    • Wake up to the sunrise in a Lotus Belle tent located on the water’s edge with Tatapouri Bay Glamping. Subject to availability.

     

    Cycle adventure

    • Enjoy an all-inclusive guided cycle tour on the Pakihi Track (part of Motu Trails Great Ride) with Cycle Gisborne. Approximate duration 3-4hrs. A 20km single-track followed by 24km gravel road. Includes guide, transfers from accommodation, bike, helmet, bike lock and panniers, meals.
    • Enjoy an all-inclusive guided cycle at Eastwood Hill Arboretum with Cycle Gisborne. Start at Eastwoodhill Arboretum, travel downhill through country farms, vineyards and orchards. Approximate duration 4hrs. Includes guide, transfers to Eastwoodhill Arboretum, support, bike, helmet, bike lock and panniers, meals.
    • Leisurely cycle on the scenic coastal railway between Gisborne and Wairoa with Gisborne Railbike Adventure. Relaxed 32km excursion. Approximate duration 4 hrs. Required to bring own lunch and refreshments, sturdy closed footwear, windbreaker, sunblock, sunhat.
    • Relax with secluded Glamping on the edge of a wetland lake with Manutuke Eco Retreat. Subject to availability.

     

    Cultural Retreat

    • Enjoy a VIP Helicopter experience to the sacred Maunga Hikurangi. Approximate duration 4hrs. Includes Helicopter transfers from accommodation (helicopter will land at The Blackhouse), Ngati Porou Guide, Picnic Lunch.
    • Discover Tairāwhiti with a Maori Cultural Tour by Tour Tipuna Tours. Includes transfers from accommodation, 45-minute scenic coastal drive, visit local marae, learn the culture of the Tangata Whenua (indigenous people of the land), guided tour of the legendary Tolaga Bay Wharf (NZ’s longest wharf). Approximate duration 3.5hrs.

    Taste Tairāwhiti

    • Eat good food, drink good coffee and get good vibes at Flagship Eatery for breakfast. Breakfast or brunch for two. All inclusive.
    • Indulge yourself with beer tasting, pizza and a brewery tour at Sunshine Brewing. Approximate duration 1.5hrs.
    • Discover Gisborne’s best wineries with Gisborne Tours. Guided tour curated to highlight the best of Gisborne’s wineries. Approx duration 4 hours.
    • Relax for two nights in boutique accommodation located on the river’s edge in Gisborne at Portside Hotel. Subject to availability.
    • Includes a $50 Prezzy Card to contribute to the transfer costs to and from the venues.

  7. The winner is responsible for all costs associated with the prize that are not specifically included in the prize (as stated in this clause 6), including (where applicable) transport, meal costs, spending money, insurance and all other incidentals. The winner is also responsible for all necessary travel documents, including valid travel identification and travel insurance.

  8. The value of the Avis car hire for this prize will be 3 days of rental, picking up from the Airport at the flight arrival time and dropping off for departure. If the winner wishes to customise their travel plans (extending their travel, opting for a different vehicle category, etc) he/she can also opt to apply a $300 NZD credit upon which they can pay the difference remaining. The rental car prize cannot be converted into cash and is not transferable.

  9. The car hire component of the prize only covers the base costs (time and kilometre charges) of the car rental and does not include optional extras or incidentals. All rentals are subject to an insurance excess; optional coverage is not included in the prize but is available for purchase at the counter.

  10. Car renter must meet applicable age, driver's licence and credit card requirements for the rental location they wish to rent from. Minimum age may vary by location and an underage surcharge may apply to drivers aged 21-25.

  11. Standard Avis rental terms and conditions apply.

  12. Flights, accommodation and car rental must be booked a minimum of 30 days prior to travel and will be subject to booking and availability. Travel and stay will need to be booked before 30 June 2020 and completed before 30 November 2020. Travel during New Zealand Public or School Holidays, or large events, is not permitted.

  13. Travel is not permitted to commence from any origin point outside of New Zealand. Stopovers or stopovers within transit are not permitted. Prize winner and his/her guest must travel together on the same flights in both directions. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by the Promoter in their sole discretion. Prize is non-transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash and is available on Air New Zealand operated services only. In the instance that the winner lives in or around Gisborne, they can nominate two guests to travel to Gisborne from any Air New Zealand domestic-serviced airport (nominated travellers will need to travel together on the same flights).

  14. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value.

  15. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize in whole (or any of its components), with a substitute prize of equal or greater value.

  16. All prize travel will be subject to Air New Zealand’s Conditions of Carriage. Prize travel will not be eligible to accrue Airpoints Dollars™ or Status Points and cannot be used in conjunction with Air New Zealand’s Airpoints™ Programme or any other carriers’ frequent flyer schemes.

  17. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in this promotion
     
  18. Neither the Promoter nor any other person or party associated with this promotion shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in this promotion or with any prizes offered.

  19. The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. Acceptance of the prize is deemed consent for the Promoter to use the winner’s details and photographs for promotional and media purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. Please refer to Air New Zealand’s Privacy Policy regarding the storage of personal information.
