Annual Account Fee
As an Airpoints member if you've flown with Air New Zealand in the last 12 months we'll waive the $30 Annual Account Fee. For members who haven't flown the fee will be reduced to $20 if you opt to receive statements online. To qualify for the reduced annual account fee, you must update your communication preferences before paying the fee. To make this change, simply login to myairnz, and then select the Communication Options page under myProfile.
Keep in mind that if mail has been returned from your current Airpoints account address you won't be sent an Annual Account Fee notice. In this case the fee will be automatically deducted from your Airpoints account on the next anniversary you joined Airpoints.
Saving on Annual Account Fees
To avoid paying the annual account fee, always provide your Airpoints membership number when booking an Air New Zealand flight, even on our grabaseat™ and Smart Saver fares. Although our lowest fares won't earn you Airpoints Dollars, they will exempt you from the annual account fee, and they will earn you Status Points. If you have flown on an Air New Zealand ticketed and operated flight in the last 6 months but forgot to give us your Airpoints details, you can use the Claim Missing Airpoints Dollars form to let us know. Simply go to myairnz, and select myPoints under Missing Airpoints Dollars.
