But we were in Auckland for only 2.5 days so we had to be efficient. We had heard great things about the West coast+the Wiatakere ranges from others, so did quite a bit of googling ahead of time, we called up black sand adventures and talked to Shaun and decided to book it. I can honestly say this was the best day tour I've been on. The itinerary will depend on everyone's skills, adventurousness and the weather. We got lucky with a beautiful sunny day and a cooler afternoon, with rain coming in as we were leaving. It was perfect for everything we did: ocean (neat secluded beach that we wouldn't have found ourselves), then hiked to a beautiful lunch spot, (no words to describe it), took off and hiked a bit of the Waitakere Ranges (swam at the waterfall with Pictures to prove it :). Absolutely loved the whole experience and would highly recommend it.
