Get kitted out with snow gear and prepare for epic fun as you hit the slopes at New Zealand's only indoor snow resort!
Had a great time in general, kids loved it. Was a bit difficult with the masks but good reason for that. Can be a bit hard to get gear at the start, too many people at the same time. Only down side was too many unsupervised children on the slopes (parents in the cafe) who had no respect for the rules.
We added a first time lesson for our boys (9 & 7) and they were really boarding by the end of it - great fun!
Way too many hidden charges when u actually get there, big struggle for beginners as Staff never offer help. Even after asking for help from staff the answers are one or two words and they disappear. Then the Cafe inside is more expensive than a 5 star. The clothes that they offer inside are so unhygienic as well and they ask like $27 just for a jacket rental per person, and you kinda have to get the jacket, gloves and all other clothings because the temp inside is like -5degrees. Complete rip off!!
It was our first time at Snowplanet. It was quite obvious from the way we were asking questions. There were no instructions or information given to us, other then giving us the passes. We inside to the actual 'snow' area and there's no clear signs for beginners or advanced people. We follow everyone else and go along to the lift and the person there lets us know to go to the beginners area, the second person that arrives to help us is quite condescending in letting us know that we should probably just stay at the beginners area for the whole time. We make our way to the beginners area and I fall a couple times going down, which is fine. But my mom fell down quite badly and waved to one of the staff but, he literally looked at her and looked away. No one came to help her. Is there no process in place for people who fell over, especially older ones? I know you have radio comms, it isn't hard to signal someone else to help people if you can't leave your position. It was overall a horrible experience. We left after under an hour of being inside. Manager was great though, she was first aid trained and looked into my mom's thumb and gave us a full refund. We had to go to Whitecross to get my mom's hand looked into after we left. Turns out, her thumb is fractured.
