Vendor did a no show

I made a booking through Book Me for a half hour jet ski at Water Sport World in queenstown on Saturday 13 April about a month prior.  I received a confirmation email of my booking the day before and turned up 15 minutes early as stated on the email instructions, only to find the shop closed. My partner called the number listed on the door of the shop on a sign that said “our for 20 mins, call this number as we are only 5 minutes away) and the person who answered said that the shop had been closed for over two weeks and they were not aware of our booking. Only after providing the reference number did they become aware that we had booked through book me.  The options given to us were to come back the next day or get a refund. Next day was not an option as we were in Queenstown for a limited amount of time. I was told by the vendor that they could not give me the refund, it would have to come through Book me and that it would be easy to cancel the booking on the website but this option did not exist so now I am out $113 for the booking plus $60 in taxi fare that it cost to get from our accom in Queenstown to the site and back, not to mention the amount of time wasted on an activity that we were never able to do. They wasted our time on what was already a short trip to Queenstown and left us with a sour taste of this holiday destination.  I have emailed both Book me and the vendor to complain and request a refund and compensation and recommend that Water Sport World Queenstown remove themselves from all booking pages such as book me until such time that they can conduct their business properly and actually check bookings.  To say I am angry is an absolute understatement and if I do not receive a full refund and compensation, I will follow up with the appropriate legal action.
