The Polynesian Spa is always on my list when visiting Rotorua. The pools are beautifully situated on the edge of Lake Rotorua and have a number of pools to choose from.
Thank you for continuing to make us part of your Rotorua visits. The lakeside setting and variety of pools have long been a draw for guests, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back again on your next trip.
The facility is beautiful! BUT! We arrived at 9:30 PM, thinking the facility closed at 11:00 PM, which would give us nearly 1.5 hours to enjoy. We were informed that pool use needed to stop by 10:45 PM, which was fine since we’d need time to shower anyway. However, at 10:00 PM, we were suddenly told we had only 30 minutes left. As a result, we barely spent 40 minutes in the pool and spent the whole time worrying about the clock. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
Hi Tanya. Thank you for your feedback. We close at 11pm which means everyone needs to be showered, dressed and on their way out by then. We start our evening pool emptying and cleaning procedures at 11pm when our night maintenance crew comes on. You should have only been asked to vacate the pools and proceed to the changing rooms at 10:40/10:45 pm though which would have given you an extra 10 minutes. We will certainly bring this up to our pool management team. We are sorry to see that this made became anxious around time instead of enjoying your soak. Hopefully you can return for a really long soak and come visit us earlier in the day.
It was very clean and relaxing. Friendly staff.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Mati. We appreciate your comments and will be sure to pass them on to the team. We hope there is another opportunity to welcome you back for a future visit.

Relaxing in beautiful setting
I made a last minute booking on BookMe for the Deluxe Lake Spa ($60, booked the same morning but there are better deals if booked with a bit more notice) and went just after opening on a Tuesday morning. The receptionist was very friendly, changing rooms and showers clean, towels and lockers included. I never had to share the pools with more than 2 others and that pools to myself noay of the time, and by the time I left at 10.30am it was almost empty. It was super relaxing. The pools and the view from them are lovely. Swallows were flying above me and cicadas in the trees. Quiet and relaxing. And I loved the cold plunge pool; for me it really made it.
