Our partnership with Etihad Airways means Airpoints™ members can earn and redeem rewards on Etihad Airways services, and Etihad Guest Members can earn miles on Air New Zealand services.
Airpoints Gold Elite & Gold members that travel on an Air New Zealand flight number operated by Etihad are now able to access a number of benefits. To ensure access to the benefits make sure you select flights with the Air New Zealand "NZ" designator or ask your travel agent to do so.
Status Points are not able to be earned on Etihad Airways operated flights, even if travel is on an Air New Zealand code shareflight number.
Lounge Access
Airpoints members travelling in Business Class or First Class on Etihad operated flights are eligible for complimentary Etihad Lounge access. In addition, Airpoints Gold Elite and Gold members travelling on an Air New Zealand flight number operated by Etihad in Economy class are entitled access to Etihad's lounges at London- Heathrow and Abu Dhabi.
All you need to do is present your valid Airpoints Gold Elite or Gold card.
Air New Zealand Gold Elite and Gold card holders departing on Etihad Airways services are not entitled to use Star Alliance partner or Star Alliance operated lounges regardless if flight number used is the Etihad flight number or Air New Zealand code share flight number.
Other Gold and Gold Elite Benefits
In addition to lounge access Airpoints Gold Elite and Gold members travelling on Air New Zealand flight number operated by Etihad in Economy & Premium Economy will also receive other benefits on the presentation of their valid Gold Elite & Gold card.
