Useful to know where.places are
We booked this for 24 hours. Was ok. Don't rely on times to be picked up from areas. We waited over an hour at one stop. One driver was fantastic but the last driver was so fast that the commentary was talking about areas when you had already passed them. He was driving so fast with hard acceleration and breaking that we got off and onto a free tram.
Firstly I would like to state that the views and the city are beautiful. The thing that really disappointed me was the bus and the driver . I have been on approximately 13 hop on hop off rides around the world, including Perth and Sydney. Melbourne was by far the worst. Whilst we were waiting to initially board, the representative selling tickets was shouting to the passengers that this was the end of the line and they should get off! There was then a massive congestion of passengers wanting to board and those getting off ! This is the first bus I have been on that does not have ear phones and a selection of languages to choose from ! After all this is mainly for tourists and the majority I saw did not understand English ! I believe the commentary should say at what number stop you are coming to in conjunction which the route map, for more clarity , this is also a first where they don’t . The exit and entry to the bus should be separated as is the case on every other one I have been on . The driver needs to ensure that the alighting passengers are seated before abruptly pulling away ! On more than one occasion I saw passengers holding on for dear life trying to reach open seats whilst in motion ! And finally , I do understand English but would like to have the option as to how loud the commentary needs to be broadcasted , hence the headphones as stated earlier. Overall rating ... below par!
