Beautiful place

If you are in Melbourne do yourself a favor and visit this place. So beautiful outside and inside, so many things to see as well. House tour is included and it was 12pm, definitely my favorite part. Staffs are so polite and friendly, you can ask questions they are happy to explain. Highly recommend.

Ms

Beautiful gardens, and well maintained. The mansion does need lots of time and money to restore it to its glory, she is looking a bit dreary. A fascinating insight into the life of the opulent past.

beautiful gardens and historic mansion

Had an enjoyable day walking around these 14 acres of gardens in this sunny weather! Lovely lake and a waterfall.

Poor Unreliable Visitor Info

Apparently RipponLea is a great heritage property to tour, however it’s not always open as their website says. We’re from Sydney and bought tickets on Bookme to visit on a Sunday. Caught 2 trams to get there only to find it’s ‘Market Day’ and the House is closed. Had rung RipponLea before booking and the recorded message mentioned nothing about being closed one Sunday a month. Neither does the RipponLea website nor the Bookme booking promotion page. Frustrating.

Lovely place to visit

What a lovely place to visit, the guided tour round the mansion was very interesting and the gentleman who showed us around was so knowledgeable. The gardens were beautiful, well maintained and the walks were lovely. Rippon Lee station is only a short train trip from Flinders Street and the mansion is only a few minutes walk from the station.
