Connecting at Vancouver
Air New Zealand operates from the main terminal at the Vancouver International Airport.
All customers arriving on an international flight must clear customs checkpoints, and collect their bags before being able to enter Canada. However, if you have an international connection to a city outside North America you do not claim your bags. They will be transferred automatically.
Arriving at Vancouver International Airport
Upon arrival, passengers can follow the 'all passengers' signs and proceed to immigration.
Passengers that require a visa to enter Canada must also present any entry requirement documents.
Once passengers have cleared immigration, they can proceed to the baggage claim area.
If you have a connecting flight to the USA, you must collect your baggage and proceed upstairs to the US departures area and see the agents for the airline you are booked with.
If Vancouver is your final destination, you must collect your baggage and proceed through to Canada Customs.
If you have a connecting domestic flight, you must collect your baggage and follow the 'Domestic Connections' signs. You will then need to recheck your baggage at the airline counter.
If you have an international connection to a city outside North America you do not need to claim your bags. They will be transferred automatically.
