How do I register for this offer?

Accepted Answer

You can register on the Air New Zealand website or Grabaseat website for this offer. Firstly, you’ll be asked to choose whether you would like to earn 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars™. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be asked to enter your name, email address and Airpoints™ number.

When you go to make your booking, ensure that you add your same Airpoints number and same email address to the Passenger Details page, or log in to your account to make your booking. Please ensure that any Airpoints members travelling with you and enrolled in the Double Days promotion also have their Airpoints number attached to the booking.

Ensure that the email address you are using for registration and making the booking is the same email address that you have in your Airpoints profile, and that you agreed to receive emails from Airpoints and Air New Zealand. This means that once you have made your bookings we can contact you let you know that you have successfully qualified for the promotion.

Do I need to book to travel within specific dates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. To be eligible, you must book an eligible flight between 26 and 30 March 2026, for travel between 13 April 2026 and 20 March 2027 (inclusive), giving you nearly 12 months to travel.

Do I need to register before I make a booking to receive 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars?

You can register either before or after you make an eligible booking, the only stipulation is that you register during the promotional period, which is between 12:01am 26 March and 11:59pm 30 March 2026.

I didn’t need to register for the last Double Days Campaign – will I still be rewarded if I skip this step?

This time you must let us know if you would like to earn 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars during the promotional period. If you don’t register, then unfortunately the 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars can’t be rewarded

Can I change my bonus preference within the promotional period?

Accepted Answer

You may change your selection by re-registering at any time during the Promotional Period. Where more than one selection is registered, the selection recorded at the end of the Promotional Period will be the final selection and will apply to all Eligible Bookings made during the Promotional Period You won’t be able to change your preference after the campaign has finished.

Am I eligible to take part in Double Days?

If you are an Airpoints member who is a resident of New Zealand, with your country of residence marked as New Zealand in your Airpoints account, then you are eligible to take part in Double Days.

I don’t know my Airpoints number, where can I find it?

If you are an Airpoints member, there are several places that you can find your Airpoints number:

In the top right corner of any email you have received from Air New Zealand
By clicking on the Airpoints tab of the Air NZ app
On your Airpoints card
By logging into your Airpoints account on the Air New Zealand website – you don’t need your Airpoints number to do this, you can use your email instead.

Will I qualify for the 2x Status Points if I book via a travel agent?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You’ll qualify for 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars if you book eligible flights through a New Zealand-based travel agent or online travel agent, provided your booking is made and confirmed within the promotional period and your Airpoints number is added at the time of booking.

If you book through a travel agent, you can either register your choice (2x Airpoints Dollars or 2x Status Points) yourself or ask your agent to assist you. If you book through an online travel agent, you’ll need to register your preference yourself.

Can I make changes to my booking or will I miss out on the promotion?

Yes, if your new travel dates remain within the eligible travel period which is between 13 April 2026 and 20 March 2027 (inclusive ), your original booking was made between 12.01am, 26 March and 11.59pm, 30 March 2026 and you have registered your choice of either 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars, you would still qualify to receive the offer.

Can I earn 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars on multiple bookings?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can earn on multiple bookings during the promotional period. If you are making a booking on a flight that is operated by Air New Zealand, or a qualifying partner airline, your booking (s) are made within the promotional period, and your travel dates are within the eligible travel period.

Question 12

If I am making multiple bookings, can some of my flights be rewarded with 2x Status Points and some with 2x Airpoints Dollars?

No. Whichever option you choose during the promotional period will apply to all your bookings made as part of the Double Days promotion.

Question 13

What happens if my flight is disrupted?

Accepted Answer

If your travel is disrupted, and you are booked onto another flight by Air New Zealand, you will still receive the 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars offer as per your original booking. If you are disrupted and put onto non-Air New Zealand operated flight, you will need to call the contact centre to redeem your 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollar earn. If you are disrupted and choose not to travel, the Status Points and Airpoints Dollar earn will be forfeited.

What qualifies as an eligible Air New Zealand operated flight?

Accepted Answer

An eligible flight is one that is both marketed and operated by Air New Zealand, with an Air New Zealand flight number on the ticket, for New Zealand Domestic or International travel where Status Credits are normally earned.

Flights operated by Wamos for Air New Zealand, or under third-party lease agreements, also qualify.

Question 15

What qualifies as an eligible Air New Zealand partner operated flight?

Accepted Answer

Qualifying flights include:

Cathay Pacific - flights between Auckland and Hong Kong, and Christchurch and Hong Kong.

United - flights between Auckland and Los Angeles, Auckland and San Francisco, and Christchurch and San Francisco.

Air China - flights between Auckland and Beijing.

Flights with an NZ flight number that are not operated by Air New Zealand, and are not qualifying partner-operated flights, are not eligible for this offer.

Question 16

If I book a flight with Air New Zealand that includes both Air New Zealand and Star Alliance flights, will I earn 2x Status Points on the whole journey?

How will I know that I have successfully qualified for the offer?

Accepted Answer

If you have registered and the eligibility criteria have been met, and you make a qualifying booking during the promotional period, you will qualify to receive the 2x Status points or 2x Airpoints Dollars. We will also contact you after Double Days has closed to confirm.

Question 18

Where can I check that my 2x Status Points and 2x Airpoints Dollars have been received?

Accepted Answer

You can review your activity by logging into your Airpoints account or by using the AirNZ App.

Once you have flown on an eligible flight, you will see the 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollar amount included with your earning for that flight and displayed in your Airpoints account statement.

Question 19

I am an ANZ Platinum Airpoints Credit Card holder who already receives 50% bonus earn, will I earn the Status Points Bonus on top of the ANZ Bonus.

Accepted Answer

No. The 2x Status Points applies only to the standard Status Points earn. You will not receive the 2x Status Points on the additional 50% earned from your ANZ Platinum Airpoints Credit Card.

Example: If your standard earn rate is 1 Status Point, you'll receive 1 (standard) + 0.5 (ANZ bonus) + 1 (Status Points Bonus on the standard earn) = 2.5 Status Points total.

Question 20

How can I calculate how many Status Points I will earn for my travel?

Accepted Answer

You will see the standard estimated Status Points and Airpoints Dollar earn for your trip shown at the top of the flight booking page. This is the standard earning rate and not the double rate. If your flight qualifies for the offer the 2x earn will be credited into your account on the day of travel.

Can I make a booking for multiple passengers?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and all accompanying passengers who meet the eligibility criteria will qualify for the offer. To be eligible, all passengers must have registered for the offer via the Air New Zealand website, and must all have their Airpoints Number entered on the booking details page.

Will I still qualify for the 2x Status Points if I pay for my flight using Airpoints Dollars?

Accepted Answer

No. Flights paid for with Airpoints Dollars do not earn Status Points or Airpoints Dollars and therefore will not qualify for the offer. Airpoints and Status Points are only earned on eligible flights purchased with money, including credit or debit card, cash, Flexipay, or eligible partner airline bookings. Flights paid for using Flexipay will earn Status Points at a rate of 20% of the standard earn.

Will I still qualify for 2x Status Points or 2 x Airpoints Dollars earn using Airpoints Flexipay?

Flights paid for with Airpoints Flexipay earn Status Points and Airpoints Dollars at 20% of the standard rate for eligible flights. The 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars offer will apply to that reduced earn rate on the eligible flight portion of your booking

Will I still qualify for the Status Points bonus if I apply a cabin class upgrade?

Cabin class upgrades which are paid for into Premium Economy or Business Premier will qualify for 2x Status Points and 2x Airpoints Dollars based on the cabin class of the airline ticket at the time of travel.

If I upgrade with  OneUp or Loyalty upgrades will I qualify for the bonus offer?

Accepted Answer

Airpoints Dollars offer. You will still earn the bonus points based on the original cabin class booking and airfare that you paid for your ticket.

To be eligible for this offer, the booking creation date needs to be between 12.01am 26 March and 11.59pm 30 March 2026.

I forgot to add my Airpoints number at the time of booking, can I add it later and still qualify for the 2x Status Points?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can add your Airpoints number after you have made your booking by logging into your Airpoints account online, or by using the AirNZ App. You can do this up until the flight departure.

However, it is important that you have registered and chosen whether you would like to receive 2x Status Points or 2x Airpoints Dollars within the promotional period which is 12.01am 26 March and 11.59pm 30 March 2026.

Will my 2x Status Points earn go towards my Air New Zealand flights travel earn?

Yes. Your 2x Status Points will count toward your Air New Zealand flight earn, helping you move closer to your next tier.

Does the 2x Status Points earn show up in my potential earn rate in the Air New Zealand app for my upcoming flights?

Accepted Answer

No, the 2x Status Points or 2 x Airpoints Dollars will only be shown after your qualifying travel has been completed. You will see them displayed in your activity screen in your Airpoints online account or in the AirNZ App.

If the booking is an 'Eligible Booking' and satisfies the criteria defined in the terms and conditions, then the promotion will be applied.
