Pay Now or Pay Later - the choice is yours

When you book Avis or Budget through Air New Zealand, some destinations will give you the choice to select either a Pay Later or a Pay Now rate.

Pay Later rates provide you with maximum flexibility with free cancellation. You can opt to pay with Airpoints Dollars or by credit card. Your card will be charged by Avis/Budget after you return the vehicle.

Pay Now rates provide great savings – but come with a cost if you do need to cancel. You can opt to pay with Airpoints Dollars or by credit card. If paying by credit card your card will be charged by Avis/Budget at the time of booking. In the event that you return early no portion of the payment will be refunded.

Paying with Airpoints Dollars? The total amount owing will be deducted from your account at the time of booking, regardless of whether you've selected a Pay Now or Pay Later rate.

Earning Airpoints Dollars When paying by credit card both Pay Now and Pay Later rates earn 3 Airpoints Dollars per rental day.

The following cancellation fees apply to Pay Now bookings:
