Supplier Diversity

Air New Zealand connects communities across Aotearoa and the world, supporting tourism and economic growth. Partnering with diverse New Zealand businesses is another way we can contribute to the prosperity of our country. This is why we have established a supplier diversity programme.

Ka Rere – our diverse supplier accelerator programme

To support our work on supplier diversity, in 2024 Air New Zealand launched a diverse supplier accelerator programme, where we partnered with three small diverse businesses as part of a 12-week mentoring round.

The programme provides an opportunity for these businesses to access a range of skills, knowledge, and experience within Air New Zealand to support their growth ambitions. It also enables them to build their capabilities to bid for future opportunities to work with Air New Zealand.

The programme starts with us workshopping and agreeing how best to spend our 12 weeks together, as each business may have different ideas on how they want to use their time with Air New Zealand.

Examples of some of the opportunities participants have:

  • Engage with our Procurement and Supply Chain teams about our tender process, what we're looking for when we assess bids, and what we look for in an Air New Zealand supplier.
  • Engage with our Sustainability team about key issues we're looking to collaborate with suppliers on and ask for feedback on their sustainability plans or initiatives.
  • Engage with our Brand and Marketing team on marketing ideas for their business and tap into their experience and expertise.

Successful participants need to meet the following criteria:
