Ka Rere – our diverse business accelerator programme
To support our work on supplier diversity, in 2024 Air New Zealand launched Ka Rere, our diverse business accelerator programme where we partner with small diverse businesses as part of a 12-week mentoring round. The second round of Ka Rere is taking place from May 2025.
The programme provides an opportunity for selected businesses to access a range of skills, knowledge, and experience within Air New Zealand to support their growth ambitions. It also enables them to build their capabilities to bid for future opportunities to work with Air New Zealand.
The programme starts with us workshopping and agreeing how best to spend our 12 weeks together, as each business may have different ideas on how they want to use their time with Air New Zealand.
Examples of opportunities participants have include:
- Engaging with our Procurement and Supply Chain teams about our tender process, what we're looking for when we assess bids, and what we look for in an Air New Zealand supplier.
- Talking with our Sustainability team about key opportunities or issues, and asking for feedback on their sustainability plans or initiatives.
- Engaging with our Brand and Marketing teams on ideas for their business and tapping into their experience and expertise.
Successful participants need to meet the following criteria:
