COVID-19: One-way Safe Travel Zone from Auckland to Sydney
From Friday, 16 October 2020, customers starting their journey in New Zealand can travel to Sydney, New South Wales, without the requirement for quarantine on arrival in Australia.
Prior to arriving at the airport, please ensure you print and complete the COVID-19 Declaration form stating you have been in New Zealand the preceding 14 days. Your completed form will need to be presented to our staff at check-in. A health screening will also take place upon your arrival in Australia.
So we can continue to carry our customers safely and to identify anyone with travel originating outside New Zealand, we have introduced ‘quarantine-free’ and ‘quarantine’ flights.
Quarantine-free flights will carry customers with travel originating in New Zealand, flying from Auckland to Sydney, who are not required to quarantine on arrival in Australia.
Quarantine flights will be open to international transit customers who do not meet the Safe Travel Zone criteria. Customers on these services will be required to quarantine on arrival in Australia.
We will operate two 'quarantine' flights per week, and the remaining flights will be 'quarantine-free' flights.
Anyone planning to travel interstate beyond New South Wales will need to ensure they have checked state and territory travel restrictions and have the appropriate exemptions and/or approvals to travel, as these continue to change.
We also ask that our customers keep in mind that the Safe Travel Zone is a one-way arrangement. Those returning to New Zealand will still need to quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival in Auckland, provide payment for quarantine and must register their managed isolation accommodation requirements via the New Zealand Government’s Managed Isolation and Quarantine website.
Due to Australian State restrictions, fares beyond Sydney to destinations within Australia will not be available to book via our website or contact centre.
