Air New Zealand 'Pin a Million' Terms and Conditions – NZ Promotion

  1. Information on how to enter the promotion forms part of the conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed as acceptance of its terms and conditions. 

  2. Promotion commences at 7.00am 1 August 2023 and closes 11.00pm 1 September 2023 (the "Promotional Period"). Entries received outside of this time will be ineligible for entry.  The Promoter reserves the right to amend the length or duration of the Promotional Period at any time.  

  3. Entry is only open to New Zealand residents aged 18 years or over. Eligible participants must be an existing Air New Zealand Airpoints™ member or become an Airpoints™ member to win a prize. ("Eligible Participants").

  4. Air New Zealand Limited (the "Promoter"), its employees, participating agents and their associated agencies are ineligible to enter. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries. 

  5. There is a total prize pool of 1,000,000 Airpoints Dollars™ to be won during the Promotional Period. Eligible participants have the chance to win a share of the total prize pool through participating in: 

    - Air New Zealand Pin a Million local events ("Local Events"); or 
    - Air New Zealand Pin a Million online game ("Online Game") 

    Conditions of Entry 
    How to Enter:  Local Events  

  6. From 1-11 August 2023, Air New Zealand Pins ("Event Pins") will be hidden across the country on various days and clues will be given out to the location of each pin. Clues will be shared in Air New Zealand Facebook Event posts, on-air announcements with The Hits local radio stations, and posts on The Hits local Facebook pages.  

  7. Eligible Participants who locate the Event Pin must check-in at the kiosk on site and enter the following details ("Check In"): 
    a. first and last name;  
    b. Air New Zealand Airpoints™ membership number 
    c. email address; 
    d. mobile phone number;  
    e. acceptance of the Promotion Terms & Conditions; and tap the "Enter" button into the competition form.  

  8. Limit of one entry per person per Event Pin.  

  9. All Eligible Participants who Check In at the Event Pin will go into the Local Event Prize Draw for that location to win one prize of 10,000 Airpoints Dollars™. The winner of the Local Event Prize Draw at each location will be notified using the mobile phone number provided at Check In. By entering the Local Event Prize Draw, participants agree to be called on-air by The Hits radio station the following morning.  

  10.  If the Promoter, having used reasonable efforts, is unable to contact a Local Event Prize Draw winner within 5 business days of the Local Event, the prize is forfeited and a further draw(s) will be conducted. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

  11. Spot prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™ will be randomly generated at Check In. Winners of spot prizes will be notified on the Check-In kiosk screen and receive a confirmation email with prize details using the email address provided at Check In.  Airpoints Dollars™ prizes will be awarded to the Airpoints™ membership number provided at Check In within two business days.  

  12. Check In at Event Pins will be open for two hours from time of the location clue is initially shared. The Promoter will endeavour to get as many people through Check In as possible, but does not guarantee participants will be able to Check In.   

  13. The Promoter reserves the right to end the Check In period early for safety reasons or weather events.  

    How to Enter:  Online Game  

  14. Each day of the Promotional Period a clue will be given for the mystery virtual location ("Prize Location") for the online game for that day. A new Prize Location will be posted on the Pin a Million online game page at 7.00am each day and entries for that day will close at 11.00pm.   

  15. Eligible Participants can enter the Pin a Million Online Game once per day during the Promotional Period. 

  16. To play, an Eligible Participant must visit pinamillion.airnewzealand.co.nz and drop a pin where they think the Prize Location for that day is. To be eligible to win a prize, they must enter the following details ("Valid Entry/ies"): 
    a. First and last name; 
    b. email address; 
    c. Air New Zealand Airpoints™ membership number; 
    d. acceptance of the Promotion Terms & Conditions; and click or tap the "Enter" button into the competition form.  

  17. Eligible Participants who placed their pin within a 1km radius of the latitude and longitude coordinate of the Prize Location will go in the draw for that day to win one prize of 5,000 Airpoints Dollars™ ("Daily Pin Draw").

  18. All other Valid Entries outside of the 1km radius will go in the draw to win one of 20 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™. ("Daily Spot Prize Draw") 
     
  19. Daily Pin Draw winners and Daily Spot Prize Draw winners will be notified using the email address provided in their Valid Entry on the following dates:

  20. Every Valid Entry during the Promotional Period will automatically go into the draw to win one of 20 prizes of 1,000 Airpoints Dollars™ ("Online Game Grand Prize Draw").  

  21. On 5 September 2023, the winners of the Grand Prize Draw will be randomly drawn from all the Valid Entries by Eligible Participants. The first 20 Valid Entries drawn will win 1,000 Airpoints Dollars™. Online Game Grand Prize Draw winners will be notified using the email address provided in their Valid Entry and their prize will be awarded to the Airpoints™ membership number provided in the Valid Entry within 7 working days of being notified as a winner.  

  22. Daily Pin Draw, Daily Spot Draw and Online Game Grand Prize Draw prizes will be awarded to the Airpoints™ membership number provided in the Valid Entry within 7 working days of being notified as a winner.   

    General Prize Terms & Conditions  

  23. A total of 1,000,000 Airpoints ™ Dollars will be given away during Promotional Period. The Promoter reserves the right to adjust the number and value of prize amounts throughout the Promotional Period. Any unclaimed Airpoints Dollars™ prizes will be added to the Online Game Grand Prize Draw. 

  24. All Airpoints Dollars™ awarded under this Promotion will accrue to the member's Airpoints™ account and expire as per Airpoints™ terms and conditions.  

  25. Airpoints Dollars™ awarded as prizes for this promotion will appear in the Airpoints™ member's account with an activity description of 'Air New Zealand Promotion Prize'. 

  26. Details provided by prize winners upon entry will be verified by the Promoter to validate they are an Eligible Participant. If a Prize Winner is deemed ineligible for any reason, a replacement prize winner will be drawn. 
  27. Prizes cannot be converted into cash and are not exchangeable or transferable.  

  28. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize in whole (or any of its components), with a substitute prize of equal or greater value. 

  29. All dates and times are in NZST. 

  30. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.  

  31. The Promoter assumes no responsibility to any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in this promotion. 

  32. Neither the Promoter nor any other person or party associated with this promotion shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss, and costs or expenses) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in this Promotion or with any prizes offered, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law. 

  33. The Promoter collects entrants' personal information in order to conduct the Promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the Promotion. Acceptance of the prize is deemed consent for the Promoter to use the winner's details and photographs for promotional and media purposes (including if the prize is Airpoints Dollars™, details of what the winner has used those Airpoints Dollars™ on) without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant.
