Air New Zealand Sweetstake Terms and Conditions – NZ Promotion

  1. Information on how to enter the promotion forms part of the conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed as acceptance of its terms and conditions. 

  2. Promotion commences at 5.30am 1 October 2024 and closes 11.00pm 20 October 2024 (the "Promotional Period"). Entries received outside of this time will be ineligible for entry.

  3. Entry is only open to New Zealand residents. Eligible participants must be an existing Air New Zealand Airpoints™ member or become an Airpoints™ member to win a prize ("Eligible Participants"). Any Eligible Participants under 18 years old must have parental/guardian approval to enter and the parent/guardian of the participant must read and consent to these terms and conditions. Parents/guardians may be required by the Promoter to enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent to the minor entering this promotion (or collecting or accepting any prize the subject of this promotion, or any use of the participant's details and/ or photographs for promotional or media purposes).

  4. Air New Zealand Limited (the "Promoter"), its employees, participating agents and their associated agencies are ineligible to enter. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries. 

  5. There is a total prize pool of 1,000,000 Airpoints Dollars™ to be won during the Promotional Period. Eligible participants have the chance to win a share of the total prize pool through participating in:

    - Air New Zealand Sweetstake local events ("Local Events"); or 
    - Air New Zealand Sweetstake online game ("Online Game")

    How to Enter:  Local Events  

  6. From 1-20 October 2024, the Air New Zealand Lolly Jar ("Lolly Jar") will be across the country on various days and the location of the Lolly Jar will be shared on airnzsweetstake.co.nz.  

  7. Eligible Participants who visit the Lolly Jar must scan the QR code on site, sign in and enter the following details ("Valid Entry"):
    a. guess the number of lollies in the lolly jar;
    b. acceptance of the Promotion Terms & Conditions; and
    c. click or tap the "Enter" button on the competition form. Each Valid Entry will be entered into the Local Event Prize Draw and be assessed for the Grand Prize.

  8. Limit of one entry per person per location of the Local Event.

  9. All Eligible Participants who submit a Valid Entry at the Lolly Jar will go into the Local Event Prize Draw for that location to win one daily prize of 10,000 Airpoints Dollars™ ("Daily Prize Draw").  

  10. The winner of the Daily Prize Draw will be randomly generated when submitting a Valid Entry. The winner of the Daily Prize Draw at each location will be notified using the registered email address on their Airpoints™ account. Airpoints Dollars™ prizes will be awarded to the Airpoints™ membership number on the Valid Entry within 24 hours.

  11. All Eligible Participants who submit a Valid Entry at the Lolly Jar will also go into the Local Event Prize Draw for that location to win the following prizes: ("Daily Spot Prize Draw")

    •   Whangarei - One of 45 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Auckland - One of 120 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Hamilton – One of 45 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Tauranga - One of 45 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Napier - One of 45 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Wellington - One of 100 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Nelson - One of 45 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Christchurch - One of 100 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

    •   Queenstown - One of 45 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™

  12. Daily Spot Prizes will be randomly generated when submitting a Valid Entry. Winners of Daily Spot Prizes will be notified after submitting their Valid Entry and receive a confirmation email with prize details using the registered email address on their Airpoints™ account. Airpoints Dollars™ prizes will be awarded to the Airpoints™ membership number provided on the Valid Entry within 24 hours.

  13. The Local Event prize draw will be open for Valid Entry from 5:30am – 7pm on the day of the Local Event. The Promoter will endeavour to get as many people through the Local Event as possible but does not guarantee participants will be able to submit a Valid Entry.

  14. The Promoter reserves the right to end the Local Event early or cancel a Local Event for safety reasons or weather events.

    How to Enter: Online Game

  15. Each day of the Promotional Period Eligible Participants can enter their guess for the number of lollies in the Lolly Jar. Entries will open at 7.00am and close at 11.00pm each day.

  16. Eligible Participants can enter the Sweetstake Online Game once per day during the Promotional Period.

  17. To play, an Eligible Participant must visit airnzsweetstake.co.nz and submit a guess for the number of lollies in the Lolly Jar. To be eligible to win a prize, they must enter the following details ("Valid Entry "):
    a. guess of number of lollies in the Lolly Jar;
    b. acceptance of the Promotion Terms & Conditions;
    c. and click or tap the "Enter" button on the competition form.

  18. All Eligible Participants who submit a Valid Entry will go in the draw for that day to win:
    (a) one daily prize of 10,000 Airpoints Dollars™ ("Daily Prize Draw") and
    (b) one of 30 prizes of 500 Airpoints Dollars™ ("Daily Spot Prize Draw").
    Each Valid Entry will also be assessed for the Grand Prize.
     
  19. Daily Prize Draw winners and Daily Spot Prize Draw winners will be randomly generated when submitting a Valid Entry. Winners of the Daily Prize and Daily Spot Prizes will be notified using the registered email address on their Airpoints™ account. Airpoints Dollars™ prizes will be awarded to the Airpoints™ membership number on the Valid Entry within 24 hours.

  20. The AR and 3D jar is a visual likeness of the giant lolly jar and is not an identical representation.

    General Prize Terms and Conditions

  21. A total of 1,000,000 Airpoints ™ Dollars will be given away during Promotional Period. Any unclaimed Airpoints Dollars™ prizes will be added to the Grand Prize.

  22. Every valid entry into the Local Events and the Online Game during the Promotional Period will be assessed for the grand prize of 50,000 Airpoints Dollars™ ("Grand Prize").

  23. The winner of the Grand Prize will be selected as having the guess with the exact number of lollies in the Lolly Jar. Where an exact guess hasn't been submitted, the winner will be determined to be the closest to the exact number of lollies.    

  24. Where there is more than one (1) person eligible as the winner, the Grand Prize will be shared equally among all eligible winners.

  25. The winner(s) of the Grand Prize will be selected at the conclusion of the Promotional Period and no later than 25 October 2024. The Grand Prize winner(s) will be notified using the registered email address on their Airpoints™ account and their prize will be awarded to the Airpoints™ membership number provided in the Valid Entry within 7 working days of being notified as a winner.

  26. All Airpoints Dollars™ awarded under this Promotion will accrue to the member's Airpoints™ account and expire as per Airpoints™ terms and conditions.

  27. Airpoints Dollars™ awarded as prizes for this promotion will appear in the Airpoints™ member's account with an activity description of 'Air New Zealand Promotion Prize'.

  28. Details provided by prize winners upon entry will be verified by the Promoter to validate they are an Eligible Participant. If a Prize Winner is deemed ineligible for any reason, a replacement prize winner will be drawn.

  29. The awarding of a prize may be reversed or cancelled by the Promoter if there has been a breach of these terms and conditions by the winner.

  30. Prizes cannot be converted into cash and are not exchangeable or transferable.

  31. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value.

  32. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize in whole (or any of its components),
    with a substitute prize of equal or greater value.
  33. All dates and times are in NZST.

  34. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  35. The Promoter assumes no responsibility to any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in this promotion. The Promotion may be modified or withdrawn by the Promotor at any time acting reasonably (including by changing or cancelling a particular Local Event(s)).

  36. Neither the Promoter nor any other person or party associated with this promotion shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss, and costs or expenses) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in this Promotion or with any prizes offered, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law. 

  37. The Promoter collects entrants' personal information in order to conduct the Promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the Promotion. Acceptance of the prize is deemed consent for the Promoter to use the winner's details and photographs for promotional and media purposes (including if the prize is Airpoints Dollars™, details of what the winner has used those Airpoints Dollars™ on) without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. Please refer to Air New Zealand's Privacy Policy regarding the collection, use, disclosure and storage of personal information.
