International check-in

When to check in

Online check-in opens 24 hours before your flight. The final check-in completion time for your flight is listed on your e-ticket, on your Air New Zealand mobile app, or in the information provided by your travel agent.

Please note, online check-in is not available for flights departing Niue so you will need to check in at the airport. Check-in and bag drop for flights departing Niue close 120 mins prior to departure.

What you need to check in

To check-in for an international flight at the airport, you need your passport and any other documentation (such as a visa) pertaining to your passport nationality, destination and any transit countries.

If travelling to or via the USA, and entering under the Visa Waiver Program, you must have applied for an ESTA travel authorisation at least 72 hours before departure. When granted, an ESTA remains valid against the registered passport number for 2 years. You must also know the address where you are staying in the USA.
