Airpoints™ Flexipay

Airpoints Flexipay bookings are available to all eligible Airpoints members based in New Zealand and Australia. To use Airpoints Flexipay on the Airpoints Store, you will need to be an Airpoints member residing in New Zealand. This is because store delivery is currently only available within New Zealand.

You can make an Airpoints Flexipay booking through the Air New Zealand website, the Air New Zealand contact centre or Grabaseat website (New Zealand). When making your booking online, sign in to your Airpoints account and proceed through the booking flow as normal. You will see the Airpoints Flexipay payment method on the 'Review and Pay' page when you have 'Use Airpoints Dollars' selected.

To make an Airpoints Flexipay purchase from the Airpoints Store, sign in to your Airpoints account and head to 'Checkout' once you've selected your item(s). Use the Flexipay calculator on the page to choose the amount you would like to pay in Airpoints Dollars and the amount you'd like to pay by credit card.

Please note there is no minimum or maximum Airpoints Dollar amount required to use Flexipay on the Airpoints Store.

To make an Airpoints Flexipay booking, however, there is a minimum and maximum Airpoints Dollar requirement to use Airpoints Flexipay. Your Airpoints Dollar balance must be at least 20% of the total cost of the airfare to pay using Airpoints Flexipay. For example, if the total airfare is NZD $100 (or AUD $100 in Australia), you will need to have at least 20 Airpoints Dollars in your available balance. You can pay up to 90% of the total cost of the airfare in Airpoints Dollars. If you wish to pay 100% of the total cost of the airfare using Airpoints Dollars, please select the 'Airpoints' tab.

The minimum and maximum Airpoints Dollar requirement forms part of the eligibility criteria for Airpoints Flexipay bookings. This is subject to change.

Yes, you can earn Airpoints Dollars and Status Points on all eligible Airpoints Flexipay flight bookings. You will earn Airpoints Dollars and Status Points at 20% of the standard earn rate that applies to Air New Zealand and partner airline flights. For more information, please refer to our Airpoints calculator and the Airpoints Flexipay terms and conditions. Note Grabaseat terms apply to Grabaseat bookings made with Airpoints Flexipay (New Zealand).

You can also earn Airpoints Dollars on the cash portion of your order from the Airpoints Store when purchasing eligible items using Airpoints Flexipay. You can check if an item is excluded from earning Airpoints Dollars on the product pages.

Status points are not earned on purchases made from the Airpoints Store.

Yes, you can buy an Air New Zealand ticket for your giftees using Airpoints Flexipay. You will need to add your family and friends to your Gifting Register first. Once added you will be able to pay for their flight with your Airpoints Dollars.

Yes, there is an additional cost to use Airpoints Flexipay. This is due to the impact of mixing payment types.

When booking flights with Airpoints Flexipay, the fee amount will vary based on the route flown and the value of Airpoints Dollars contributed towards the total airfare cost. Airpoints Flexipay bookings do not incur credit card fees. Unlike normal Airpoints Dollar airfare redemptions, Airpoints Flexipay allows you to earn Airpoints Dollars and Status Points on eligible flights.

There is no fee when using Airpoints Flexipay to purchase eligible items from the Airpoints Store. Eligible items are subject to change at any time.

No, in terms of flights, Airpoints Flexipay can only be used for new flight bookings at this stage. Airpoints Flexipay is also available to use on the Airpoints Store.

Yes, you can use your Shairpoints™ balance if you a 'Spender' on the account. Learn more about Shairpoints. Please note, Shairpoints is not available for Australia-based Airpoints members.

No, at this stage you cannot use your Airpoints for Business balance to purchase a flight with Airpoints Flexipay. Please note, Airpoints for Business is not available for Australia-based Airpoints members.
