Spend Airpoints on Air New Zealand flights
Sign in to your Koru account before you start your flight booking and select pay with Airpoints at the payment stage to use your Airpoints for Air New Zealand flights and flights operated by Star Alliance member airlines or partner airlines as part of your Air New Zealand booking.
You can combine Airpoints and cash with Airpoints Flexipay if you don’t have enough Airpoints to cover the full flight cost. Any associated airport or government costs can be paid by credit card, OneSmart ™ card, or POLi.
You can also use your Airpoints for seats, such as Economy Skycouch or Economy Stretch, and extra bags. When you fly internationally with Air New Zealand, you can use your Airpoints onboard to purchase a curated selection of beverages, including our wine offering.
Spend Airpoints on Star Alliance and partner flights
You can use your Airpoints in the partner airline online portal for flights operated by Star Alliance member airlines or partner airlines. Terms and conditions apply*. Alternatively, you can call our friendly customer care team with your Koru number ready.
Gifting flights with Airpoints
Sometimes the best gifts are experiences. With your Airpoints, you can book an Air New Zealand flight for someone in your household and give them something truly unforgettable. Airpoints Flexipay is available if you don’t have enough Airpoints to cover the full fare.
Before you book, you’ll need to add each person to your gifting register. If your giftee isn’t a Koru member, tell them to join Koru for free, or contact us to add them for an NZD $25 or 25 service fee.
If you’re Koru Gold, Koru Platinum, Koru Black, or a Westpac Airpoints credit card holder, you can also gift Air New Zealand flights to a limited number of friends and family outside your household.

- Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic, and Etihad are currently only available by calling our contact centre.
- Partner airline reward tickets are limited in availability, at the operating carrier’s discretion.
- Airpoints must be used to pay for the full ticket cost (Airpoints Flexipay cannot be used to book partner airline tickets through the partner airline portal).
- Taxes, levies or surcharges must be paid with debit or credit card.
- No child discount applies to reward tickets. Seats are sold at a standard rate depending on the distance and cabin class of the flight.
- No infant bookings are permitted, please contact the operating carrier directly.
- Reward tickets are subject to the operating carrier’s terms and conditions, applicable fare rules and conditions of carriage.
- Any special requests (e.g. meal requests or special assistance) can be made directly with the operating carrier.
